Bodhi Battalion is excited to announce we are currently seeking new volunteers, who share in our mission of fighting for those who fought for us, for a variety of opportunities with our organization. Every year we host a number of events, seek to expand our reach in the community, and further develop our programs benefiting our veterans.

We do not have paid employees so the success of our mission is reliant on the generosity of our volunteers.

Currently, we have a number of volunteer opportunities including our annual golf tournament committee, grant writing, puppy fosters and even on our board of directors.

Opportunity Details

Our Adopt a Family Holiday project provides clothing, toys, and food to over 450 families in need during the holiday season.  

Volunteer Activities:  As warehouse volunteer elves, you can assist with the intake of gifts, gift wrapping, organizing the warehouse, and distributing gifts to agencies. These volunteers are the muscle behind the Adopt a Family program and have a lot of fun playing the role of "elves" for these families in need.

Opportunity Details

The wonderful staff at the Wheaton Kohls is helping us on one of our finishing touches for our Muscle Team Gala! The life saver cards are placed on over 85 tables in front of over 800 guests. These cards are an eye catching icon created to help assist in the fundraising aspect of the event. We appreciate all of your help in bringing strength to life at this life changing event!

Opportunity Details

On December 14, 2018 Matrix will host the 27th annual Happy Holidays Celebration at Silveyville Tree Farm in Dixon. This event provides the Solano county special needs families and classrooms community exposure in a safe environment. This exposure helps to foster the children’s independence and reduce the stigma associated with having a disability. It also provides an opportunity for parents to receive resources and connect with other parents to reduce feelings of isolation. Matrix staff and community volunteers will serve nearly 400 people with holiday themed activities, snacks, a sleigh ride tour through the tree farm, and a visit from Santa who gives each child a gift. Silveyville Tree Farm will remain open to the public and the event is free for families and schools.

Kohl's Cares volunteers came last year and helped us with the coloring and cookie station. It was a huge help and greatly appreciated! The girls set up the coloring and later the cookie station. They engaged with the little ones and helped them color their pictures. We hope they are able to join us and help out again this year!

Mattingly Edge created TAG: A Benefit Party several years ago with a unique idea in mind. We wanted to engage a younger audience (Millennial and Gen-X) who want to experience hands-on philanthropy and see the impact their resources generate. TAG stands for Tunes. Arts. Games. There will be music (provided by a game called Karaoke Roulette), art (live art demonstrations by 2 graffiti artists), and games (Cornhole, Giant Jenga, and more!). This year TAG is on November 3rd, 2018 from 7-11pm at the NEW Tim Faulkner Gallery on Logan Street.

We currently have old carpet on the floors and it needs to be ripped out. We are also removing some walls and closets to open up the place. If someone has skills to help with the floors, we have a sloping chapel floor that needs to be leveled.

Volunteer at MDA Muscle Team!

Muscle Team is a fun, high energy MDA gala that hosts Chicago professional athletes and pairs them with MDA's real MVPs - local kids living with muscle disease - for the evening. The athletes, including Denis Savard, Ron Kittle, an American Ninja Warrior and many more, are using their muscles to strengthen the muscles of the neuromuscular disease community

Opportunity Details

It's a Spaghetti Dinner to help benefit the Senior Nutrition Program in Redlands and Mentone. Join us Sat., November 3, 2018 from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Volunteers will be available 1 hour before the event (which starts at 4PM) to help set-up, then serve and clean-up. The event includes opportunity drawings, entertainment by local favorite Dan Damon, and dinner.
