Our goal for this project is to gather about 150 volunteers who are capable of leaf-raking, leaf-blowing and bagging for the elderly, shut-in and disabled people we serve living in the Wolhurst Adult Community in the Southwest Denver Metro area in Littleton. We may also need people capable of helping with logistics and administration (volunteer dates and times may differ - please call Project Contact for details).

We are currently receiving donations of lawn and leaf bags, rakes and blowers to help us complete this task for the needy individuals who are elderly, shut-in and/or disabled and who live in the Southwest Denver Metro community of Wolhurst. "MOW to EMPOWER: A Veteran's Journey Home, ONE BLADE at a Time!"

Join a transformative act of KINDNESS! Help an AIR FORCE veteran secure her DREAM HOME through a one-time LAWN MOWING act, creating a lasting LEGACY of hope and honor

At the heart of our nation's tapestry lies an unsung heroine, a courageous veteran who has served our country with fortitude and honor, in the esteemed United States Air Force. Now in her golden years, she's seeking our support for a one-time act of compassion that could forever change her life's landscape.

This noble warrior of our times, a resilient woman in her late 60's, has set her sights on securing a place she can call home, a sanctuary she rightly deserves. Standing in the path of her dream is a humble patch of land, a verdant challenge that merely requires the merciful touch of a lawn mower.

The stage is thus set for your act of kindness to ring loud. All we need is a willing heart with the right equipment to swing by and mow down this final barrier. Let your actions echo as a tangible token of gratitude for her indomitable service, helping to create a haven for her to peacefully cherish.

This green endeavor is a part of the City of New Orleans' commendable Mow 2 Own program, a beacon of hope for those seeking solace in the space they inhabit. It's a grand opportunity to transform a once neglected lot adjacent to a tiny backyard, into a potential oasis through diligent care for a year before it could be purchased, saving it from the cold uncertainty of auction.

As a proud 501c3 non-profit organization, we are a sanctuary for those in need. Our expansive network of volunteers tirelessly serves to provide lawn relief to the elderly and veterans who need it the most. To ensure the safety of our valued volunteers, we offer robust volunteer accident insurance coverage.

Join us in this noble endeavor. Make a difference with your benevolent act, leaving an indelible mark on a life, forever echoing a story of resilience and kindness in the face of adversity. Remember, it's more than just a patch of grass. It's a chance to cultivate hope, one blade at a time.

* To increase access for people with disabilities to outdoor activity;
* To promote creation of community and social inclusion for people with disabilities.

We provide specially-designed sailboats, docks and all the specialized equipment necessary for people with limited mobility, dexterity, sensation and strength to be able to get in a sailboat and go sailing. Our goal is to enable a sense of independence and self-sufficiency.

AST's activities are volunteer intensive. It just wouldn’t happen without all of our volunteers who help us with every aspect of running a successful and safe sailing club. With your help we can all make the sport and recreation of sailing accessible to those that otherwise wouldn’t be able to sail. You will make new friends, experience memorable moments and most of all, you will be greatly appreciated!

We have opportunities that require no sailing knowledge to ones where your skills and expertise in the sport can be put to direct use. Just indicate on the registration form and we will follow-up and find the job that's right for you. But what we need most is the energy and enthusiasm that comes with volunteering!

Our mission is to combat loneliness and isolation within the disability community by sparking joy and creating a sense of belonging. When you host a card-making party, we send your handmade cards and letters with friendship messages to our Forget-Me-Not Friends Club members. This volunteer activity is easy and fun! It can be done in person, virtually, or just by setting up a small station in a common space for people to participate in their own time. As a host, you can expect to spend a total of four to six hours on this activity (more time may be needed for larger events), including the actual card party time, which typically lasts from one to two hours.

You will receive a step-by-step guide when you register your Card Making Party on our website or follow the link that I've included below.

The Forget-Me-Not Friends Club program is free to anyone with a disability in the USA. In addition to handmade cards and letters, we send newsletters, birthday cards, and holiday greetings throughout the year.
