We are a young organization, but we've accomplished a massive amount. Since the pandemic hit, our volunteer animal-assisted therapy handlers have helped over 37,500 healthcare workers, first responders, and veterans. We have recently partnered with the VA and have a goal of establishing an animal therapy ranch in Asheville, NC. To support this initiative, we need to raise public awareness of the work that we are doing. We need help increasing our online following and social presence and help with PR. Your help, if you have PR and online marketing experience, could help us establish a ranch in Asheville that would be capable of helping upwards of 120,000 veterans, first responders, healthcare workers and people overcoming trauma and illness, per year! We would also be operating a training site for animal therapy teams from other states... so our impact is national. We have Newfoundland dog therapy teams from coast to coast. Please consider bringing your skills to help us, help more people in need.

TREE House of Greater St. Louis' mission is to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families through therapy, recreation, education, and exploration. TREE House works mostly with equine-therapy to help clients achieve their goals. We have licensed Occupational and Physical Therapists on staff.
Program volunteers actively assist in individual and group equestrian activities by helping the staff prepare the horse for the lesson, leading the horse during the lesson, and/or directly assisting the client with balance and exercises. Volunteers start as Sidewalkers, providing physical stability to the client. They may then train as Leaders, and then progress to Horse Handlers. Sidewalkers and Leaders must be able to run beside the horse at a trot while keeping the client balanced. Volunteers are also requested to clean and maintain the barn and the main building. Most program volunteers have a set schedule each week so they are working with the same clients each time. Other program volunteers act as floaters who respond to emails asking for help to fill empty volunteer spots for that week. This is a year-round program. Minimum age to volunteer is 14.
