As a volunteer puppy raiser, you have a very special role in the life of a puppy. It is the love and discipline you provide during the 12 - 15 months you are raising one of our puppies that will teach them to love and respect people. The social and environmental stimulation you provide will help the puppy develop into a secure, self-confident working dog. The puppy must have an excellent beginning in order to grow and develop to their full potential and become an excellent assistance companion. The reward for raising an assistance dog is indescribable when you see the puppy you raise become the partner for one of our clients.You are not alone in this journey. The entire staff at Duo will answer your questions and support you at all times. We are never further than a phone call away. You will also find that your fellow puppy raiser's are a constant source of support and encouragement.
There is a future client whose life will be positively impacted because of the work you do by raising one of our puppies.
Opportunity Details
To help deliver the range of group activities (exercise classes, arts and crafts, quizzes, etc) that we provide at Winchester Go LD every week. We are looking for volunteers who could commit to one session (1-2hr) per week or every fortnight. We have a strong focus on promoting wellbeing. Our groups are fun, sociable and engaging.We are looking for friendly, fun and interesting volunteers.
Our regular groups are normally based in the Winchester Discovery Centre, however, during lockdown we have been running regular social groups online (Zoom).
Social engagement is hugely important in promoting positive wellbeing for adults with learning disabilities. Our members benefit from the strong sense of community and from a relaxed environment that they can share ideas and any worries.
We are looking for volunteers who can either commit to an hour or two a week for face to face activities, or those that would be happy to volunteer an hour a month/fortnight and to be be put rota. We have daytime, evening and Saturday sessions.

Our Walk and Talk service offers an hour's walk and a chat to adults with learning disabilities. The benefits are numerous: helping to engage our members with their local community, providing valuable physical exercise, being outside, providing time away from family carers and giving an opportunity to further their communication skills and social engagement.Some members of Winchester Go LD prefer to chat over a cup of coffee, others prefer to spend their hour doing more of a powerwalk!
We are looking for volunteers to help us deliver this vital service. Whether you can give 1 hour a fortnight or 3 hours a week - we'd love to hear from you.
All volunteers for our Walk and Talk service will need to be DBS checked. Training is provided.

Winchester Go LD has recently moved a paper based operating system to the CRM, Salesforce. The charity is excited by the way that data can be recorded and analysed through this system. It offers increased efficiency in data collection and processing, improved communications with our beneficiaries and stakeholders and optimises our ability to analyse the impact of the work that we do. This information is vital for us to report outcomes to our funders.Responsibilities:
- Create objects, fields, page layouts, record types, validations and workflows as per the enhancement requirements in Salesforce NPSP module
- Analyse requirements and incorporate best practices
- Create reports and dashboards as per the requirements
- Review the enhancement log for additional feature requests and suggest solutions
- Setup data back-ups and ensure data governance
- Oversee data clean-ups and assist with data imports
- Use Process Builder to create alerts and other automation
- Assist with data integration of Salesforce with MailChimp
Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as Salesforce Administrator
- Salesforce Admin certified will be preferred
- Experience in MailChimp integration would be great, not mandatory.

Position Summary:On occasion, various SNAP departments have need of a volunteer or volunteers with construction or “handyman” type skills. Projects vary throughout the year, based on client and department needs. Flexible to your volunteer schedule and abilities. Preferred skills include: comfort and knowledge of basic hand-tool use, basic construction skills and/or access to the necessary tools for the given project.
This volunteer works closely with SNAP’s Housing Improvements and Repairs team.

(2020), leaving a lot of parents doubling as caregivers. Caring for oneself enables a parent to provide better care to the children who depend on them. Night Lights provides valuable time away so that parents can refuel and nurture an overall sense of wellbeing.Night Lights provides respite care to families who have children (ages 4 weeks - 12 years) with special needs and their siblings (also ages 4 weeks to 12 years) at no cost to the families. Thanks to the generosity of the community, Night Lights has provided over 67,000 hours of free respite care to families of children with special needs and their neuro-typical siblings over the last ten years, a service that would cost the state over $1.2 million if Colorado were to provide respite vouchers for every family that Night Lights serves.
The Childcare Volunteer stays with the child throughout the evening during each month’s program, taking them from one activity to another. The purpose of this position is to provide a one-on-one care position between the child and the volunteer. This volunteer is expected to interact with the child with excitement, love and respect. The Childcare Volunteer will document the events of the evening in the child’s file, as well as communicate with the Leadership Team regarding any concerns or questions they have about the child. The volunteers are trained and background checked. No experience is necessary and this is not a therapy position of any sort. There is an onsite nurse to assist with all medical issues.

Gateway Association – Calgary is seeking local professionals to conduct mock interviews with GET-Work: Youth Employment Transitions Project participants. GET-Work supports job seekers with disabilities aged 15 – 30 to identify, prepare for, acquire and maintain employment in a field of their choosing.Mock interviewers will assist job seekers to prepare for upcoming interviews and networking opportunities through realistic interview practice. Interviews of approximately 30 minutes are a great way for job seekers to practice or demonstrate their interviewing skills, build confidence and become accustomed to the stress associated with meeting new people in a professional setting.
Interviewers are encouraged to provide candid feedback at the end of the interview. Identifying specific areas where a job seeker could improve their interview skills is especially helpful. Job seekers will be evaluated on their ability to engage in polite conversation, stay on topic, clearly communicate their skills, experience, qualifications and professional goals, as well as to ask relevant questions of the interviewer when appropriate. Overall professionalism, personal presentation and interpersonal skills will be assessed.
Mock interviews will be conducted over virtual conferencing platforms such as Zoom to ensure the safety of participants and be considerate of schedules and time constraints. A Gateway representative will be present during the mock interview to lend support and provide additional guidance/feedback as necessary.
As a mock interviewer you can choose to volunteer one hour per month or more frequently, during businesses hours, as your schedule allows. You will be provided with the job seekers resume and job targets, as well as interview questions.
