Come serve with the Unicorn Center’s Day Activity and Job & Life Skills Programs, while helping with board games, arts & crafts, bingo and other fun activities. During these fun activities our people continue to develop and practice lessons learned: everything from counting to social skills.The Unicorn Center’s programs provide our customers an active, vibrant day program. Our team works closely with our customers, adults with IDD ( Intellectual Developmental Disabilities), to be included in a community-based environment where we help them learn, improve and retain the life skills that are necessary to live and participate successfully in the workplace, home and community life.
Volunteers must be 21 years of age.

This is a fun filled day with over 1300 participants. We have a 10, 25 and 50 mile cyclist route as well as a fun/run walk. All proceeds from this 11th annual event will benefit, EPIC School, Alpine Learning Group, Reed Foundation and garden Academy. These schools in NJ serve children with autism. 1 in 59 children are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in the United States. In NJ, that number is 1 in 34 - the highest rate in the country.Available Shifts

Fiesta Especial® Inclusion 5K & Parade program celebrates INCLUSION...the involvement and empowerment of everyone in an environment where the inherent worth and dignity of all people are recognized. This program advocates for an inclusive community that promotes and sustains a sense of belonging; that values and practices respect for the talents, beliefs, backgrounds, and ways of living of its members. 5K & 1-Mile participants compete in the race using whatever they need to help them get to the finish line. Many run, some use prosthetics, some are pushed in wheelchairs or pushchairs, some use a sighted-guide, some use self-propelled or electric wheelchairs, and some adaptive bikes & trikes. As the 5K participant crosses the finish line, the sights and sounds of the Fiesta Especial® parade takes the stage. Headed up by the Fiesta Especial® Royal Court, fire trucks, convertibles, golf carts, and small town floats appear on the streets in a celebration like none other. $35~5K Registration/$25~1 Mile Dash registration/Parade Spectators are free.Available Shifts

This 5k run will be at Wichita's new baseball stadium and was created to bring awareness to the Law Enforcement Torch Run that all started right here in Wichita and has now blossomed into a worldwide movement.As retired Wichita Police Chief Richard LaMunyon once said, "What started in 1981 as a flicker of hope in Wichita, Kansas for Special Olympics has now become a roaring flame of stability for Special Olympics athletes worldwide."
Volunteers will be helping with registration the day of the event and/or assisting with the aid station along the running route.
