Challenged Champions Equestrian Center is a non-profit therapeutic horseback riding facility that serves veterans and individuals with special needs. Each year we host our Ride-A-Thon, an event where our special needs riders get to show off the skills they have been working on in their lessons. The Ride-A-Thon also features a chicken bbq dinner, bake sale, pony rides, face painting and more. We are looking for volunteers to help serve chicken bbq dinners. Riders raiser pledge dollars to help support the program, all proceeds from this event go to Challenged Champions Equestrian Center.Available Shifts

On June 15, 2019, Sit Stay Sparkle will again be held on our campus in Santa Rosa, and it takes an army of volunteers to make this fun and inspiring event happen! Become a volunteer for Help At Your Door!In about 1 hour per week while volunteering from your home or workplace, you can build ongoing relationships and help older adults to stay in their home. You choose the day and time and we'll match you with clients who fit that schedule. Call to check on client's well-being and take their grocery orders over the phone. Grocery items are entered into an online ordering system on your computer or tablet.
We're looking for volunteers who love seniors and who have a good degree of comfort on the computer. Knowledge of grocery products a plus.

FOCUS Rocks Bridge Street is a benefit concert for FOCUS Center for Autism and their The Fresh Start School featuring rock, blues, and R&B music from local CT artists The 70's Project, Mixed Signals, and Michael Cleary. The purpose of this event is to put on a fun event while raising funds to help provide school supplies for the students at the Fresh Start School. FOCUS Center for Autism has been providing services for children and young adult living with autism for 19 years! The Fresh Start School is finishing up its third year as a special education program for children ages 11-18 with autism. The costs of running a school are very high making this event important. This is a collaborative fundraising event to benefit Camp Big Sky, a charitable not for profit organization that provides opportunities for children and adults with disabilities to access, discover, learn and enjoy the outdoors; and The Pilot Club of Peoria, a service organization whose mission is to influence positive change in communities throughout the world by bringing people together in friendship and service. The Pilot Club is been a loyal supporter of Camp Big Sky, providing thousands of dollars and volunteer time to forward each organizations' missions.This is a food and entertainment event providing hors d'oeuvres cooked by Peoria Firemen, desserts by Suite Fire Bar & Grille, and a buffet style dinner.
A silent auction will also be conducted during the event, and the Joe Stamm Band will provide the entertainment.

A volunteer is required to drive disabled Veterans and members of the armed services from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD to and from Olney Golf park for a weekly adaptive sports program (golf) on Saturday mornings for 8 weeks in the Spring and the Fall. More than one driver may support this program. Warfighter Sports is a program of Disabled Sports USA, a 50 year organization serving people with disabilities through sports and recreation. The volunteer will need a clean driving license, be able to operate an accessible lift (training provided, experience not necessary) and have experience driving oversized vehicles such as 15 pax vans. In addition to the driving each volunteer will be required to be added to our vehicle insurance and take both an online and in person training.Available Shifts

The Unicorn Centers' Day Activity Program provides our customers with an active, vibrant day program. Our team works closely with our customers, adults with IDD (Intellectual Developmental Disabilities-formerly Mental Retardation) to be included in a community-based environment where we help them learn, improve and retain the life skills that are necessary to live and participate successfully in home and community life.
Volunteers must be OVER the age of 18.
