Walk MS Volunteers
Each year, thousands of people across the country join the Walk MS volunteer team. From serving on planning committees and calling past participants to providing safety and support for riders at the event, volunteers make Walk MS happen, and are the foundation of why Walk MS is the largest gathering in the MS movement.

Who can volunteer?
Families, corporate groups and individuals are encouraged and welcome to volunteer. Some volunteer positions require a criminal and/or DMV background check, and some may involve driving or heavy lifting. But if you want to help, we guarantee we can find a place for you! Groups and individuals of all ages and abilities are invited to volunteer. We are always looking for youth clubs, corporate, and service-oriented community groups to lend a hand before, during, and after our events.

When you decide to volunteer, you become part of the MS movement--a collective of passionate individuals, moving together to create a world free of MS. Together we provide support, have fun, and make a difference in the lives of people living with MS.

What: The Conquer Chiari Walk Across America is a series of coordinated awareness/fundraising walks being held across the country on the same day

Why: To raise awareness of Chiari Malformation and to raise money for valuable research. In 2017, the event was held at 80 locations, involved more than 10,000 participants, and raised over $450,000 for research and other patient centered programs. Since its inception in September 2008, the Conquer Chiari Walk Across America has been held in 203 cities in 47 states with nearly 80,000 participating walkers, and has raised over 4.5 million dollars for research..

The total cash amount raised at the Quincy walk in 2017 was $4,675.52! We also had over $6000 worth of donations to our walk again this year between water, food, hotel stays, resources etc. We really couldn't do it without our wonderful community!

Who: Everyone is invited to participate. A minimum donation of $25 is suggested. Participants are asked to pre-register on-line at www.conquerchiari.org. T-shirts will be provided to those who pre-register by 8/16 and contribute at least $25. Contact: Nicky Boden at (573) 587-5050 or conquerchiariquincy@gmail.com.

Where: This years walk will once again be held in one of Quincy's beautiful parks!! We will be at the riverfront once again, this time closer to Quinsippi Island and the Antique Auto Museum. It's located at 1419 Bonasingna Drive. Cannot wait to see everyone there this year!!!!

The biggest difference of course is that this years walk is going to be a late afternoon walk and go into the evening! We will be trying to have a Chinese lantern release in memory of those Chiarians that we've lost, and in honor of those that are still fighting as well. So please, come out and celebrate with us!

We need as many volunteers as possible to help set up, and tear down, to help make sure everything goes off without a hitch.
