We are excited to announce our upcoming fundraiser on Columbus Day (October 14, 2024) in partnership with Black Bear Diner, and we are seeking approximately 20 volunteers to help make this event a success! The main shifts we are looking to fill are in 2-hour blocks from 10am-8pm, as outlined below:

Opportunity Details

Join UNICEF Australia for our mini hack-a-thon, ‘HOUR OF POWER’, and make
meaningful impact in just 60 minutes! In this fast-paced, skilled volunteering activity,
you'll collaborate in teams of 3-5 to tackle pressing and real-time challenges faced by
UNICEF, innovating solutions that will support children both in Australia and around the
world.
Throughout this engaging session, you'll address crucial issues such as overcoming the
digital divide, ensuring digital and child safety, navigating technological advancements,
fostering inclusion and tackling climate change and nutrition challenges. These are not
just abstract concerns—they are immediate and impactful issues that require creative
and actionable solutions.
Participants: This program can be self-facilitated or hosted by our UNICEF Australia
Innovation Lead. We can offer one facilitated session in October for a hybrid group of
30 participants.
Location: This activity can be completed in person or virtually using recordings and
Microsoft Whiteboard. Participants will be given access to toolkits to actively engage in
the session.
Facilitation: Facilitation is available by a UNICEF Australia representative, or a training
session can be provided for a self-facilitated session led by your employee lead with
guiding resources.
Duration: 60 minutes
Geographic Reach: UNICEF’s presence in 190 countries and territories around the world
uniquely positions us to reach children and families in emergencies wherever they are.

Founded in 2022 as a 501c3 non-profit, EQUIHOPE was formed to serve individuals with special needs and disabilities with safe and fun therapeutic horsemanship in a structured environment. We use internationally recognized horsemanship challenges to create a curriculum that improves physical & cognitive abilities and builds confidence & leadership.

We have many opportunities to volunteer from helping with the equine experience to maintaining and repairing the ranch. Let us know your skills and passions! We have the perfect project!

We are so excited to be opening our first public Lemondrop location, which is a 100% FREE clothing closet for the community. We desperately need VOLUNTEERS who are available to be present at the clothing closet during open hours on Saturdays. There's no money exchange in any way, just a couple papers to have any clients sign (liability waivers and acknowledgements of the closet's guidelines), and marking down what items they select. The Clothing Closet is located in the 32303 zipcode, which is one of the most impoverished areas of food and housing insecurity in Tallahassee -- the closet is desperately needed here. We will be giving clothing for free: no income verification, no background check. Clients can just come in once a week for clothing that they need.

Opportunity Details

Create fun and unique no-sew tutus - no art degree required! Children with medically fragile conditions and developmental disabilities will use these costumes during Only Make Believe interactive theatre performances and keep them afterwards. This fosters confidence during a difficult time in their life and allows them to use their imagination and return to the world of “Make Believe“, even after the show has ended.

OMB is dedicated to the principle that engaging a child’s imagination is a vital part of learning and developing life skills. Our programming empowers children to explore their imagination, engage in critical thinking, and discover the fun-filled experience of expressing emotions through interactive theatre.

Location - There is no specific location for this event.

Facilitation - This is a non-facilitated activity that will require Giving Champions to lead using guidance and resources provided by Only Make Believe. OMB will provide a link to the approved supplies and a video tutorial on how to create a tutu, as well as other resources about our organization.

Duration of Event - This activity can be as long as you'd like. Most people can create at least one tutu in an hour. Please also account for 10 minutes before and after your event for set-up and clean-up.

Geographic Reach/Impact - Only Make Believe has offices in New York and Washington, D.C. Partner Facilities in these cities and the surrounding metropolitan areas enjoy our in-person programming. Only Make Believe's virtual programming has expanded our reach to 16 additional cities across the U.S., including Orlando, St. Louis, Dallas, and Salt Lake City!

Funding Required - Yes, this event requires funding. A direct donation is NOT required for this event, but your team will be responsible for purchasing the appropriate supplies and shipping finished tutus to Only Make Believe's NYC or DC office. Please also be sure to record your team's volunteer hours as soon as possible to qualify this event for Microsoft's volunteer time match. The cost of supplies and shipping will vary based on how many volunteers participate in your event. Links to approved supplies will be shared with you in advance. Supplies is estimated to cost $100 for 25 volunteers, and shipping costs depend on your location.

Hemos organizado una serie de salidas por Valladolid para que estas personas puedan disfrutar de parques, eventos y otros planes de ocio. Queremos que se sientan parte de la comunidad, y para ello necesitamos de voluntarios como tú, que estén dispuestos a brindar su tiempo y compañía.

Además, ofreceremos actividades periódicas en los centros donde residen, y para esto también necesitamos un equipo de voluntarios comprometidos. Queremos asegurar que las personas con grandes necesidades de apoyo tengan siempre una oportunidad para disfrutar y socializar.
