My family will be holding a fundraiser in honor of my daughter, Rachel Smith, who was born with Down Syndrome on March 21, 2012. The event will be a spaghetti dinner held at the Baden United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 23, 2019. Thanks to the generosity of our volunteers and sponsors, we have been able to raise over $33,000 for the DSAP over the past five years. We hope to raise and additional $10,000 this year.

Volunteers are essential for all our activities. Through
training, we teach volunteers to assist individuals with
disabilities, yet allow for as much independence as
each participant desires.
Volunteering with our organization helps to conquer
the “divide” between non-disabled persons and
individuals with disabilities. Many people feel a great
deal of uncertainty when interacting with persons with
disabilities. Our volunteer opportunities not only assist
those with disabilities to have access, but also
provide meaningful interactions that help volunteers
realize that relating to a person with disabilities is the
same as someone without.

Daring Adventures is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization
committed to improving the lives of individuals with
disabilities and significant life challenges through the
power of outdoor recreation.
In 1991 we led the way in breaking down barriers to
accessing outdoor adventure for individuals with
disabilities. On the heels of the Americans with
Disabilities Act, we launched the first National Park
Service-sanctioned accessible Grand Canyon raft
trips for people with significant disabilities. Each
spanned sixteen days and 225 river miles through
some of the highest rated whitewater rafting in the
country.
We believe that everyone, regardless of ability,
should be able to enjoy the outdoors in a meaningful
way. Daring Adventures helps individuals overcome
the physical, attitudinal, and financial barriers to
outdoor recreation by providing specialized adaptive
equipment. support, and assistants. We focus on
inclusion, bringing together persons with and without
disabilities and emphasize what each individual can
do instead of what they can’t. We help everyone
reach their “Everest.”

We are a non-profit therapeutic riding facility. Our volunteers do everything from barn chores (taking care of the horses) to helping out with lessons. You do not need any previous horse experience to volunteer with us, but it is always a plus.

Also, we welcome volunteers to help with office work as well if they are not physically able to do the more hands on tasks with the horses.

Anyone is welcome to volunteer with us at Horses Bring Hope because we are an all inclusive environment.

We ask that volunteers are able to commit to at least 3 hours of service per week for a minimum of 3 months. If more hours are desired, you are welcome to do so!

If you have any additional questions, please email us and we will get back to you very quickly!

Please inquire with your full name, email address, a description of why you want to volunteer and how you found out about our program.
