Volunteers would need be technologically experienced. Volunteers would work at registration and as assistants to the guests at the annual fundraising gala/auction. Electronic bidding is available, and the guests may be unfamiliar with the system and need assistance.We request that volunteers who work registration attend extra training the week before the event.
Volunteers will assist in set up during the hours of 8:00 am - 12:00pm and needed 6:00pm - 11:30 pm. Day time is setting up event and auction items. Evening is auction room attendant, selling raffle tickets, assisting guests as needed with bidding, handing out bags and heart pins during Fund A Need, packing up at end of event.
This event is the major annual fundraising event for Heartstrings Community Foundation and success is crucial!

At BIAWA, our mission is to increase public awareness, support and hope for those affected by brain injury through education, assistance and advocacy. We receive over 7,000 calls a year, support 500+ individuals, and provide teaching and training for over 50,000 individuals. Our support groups are growing and our outings are always lively.
By volunteering for us, you’ll play a valuable role in documenting and communicating the moments we have along the way. As our Volunteer Social Media Manager, you’ll put your creativity and media skills to work while building professional relationships, gaining professional communications experience, and gathering insight into our remarkable community.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work and consult with our staff to develop a six-month online media strategy.
• Develop a process and templates for issuing blog posts, Facebook posts, Twitter updates, Instagram photos and YouTube features.
• Develop a network of resources for generating BIAWA online content
• Create materials and gather a bank of pre-approved content for all of our channels. Schedule the content.
• Assist in publishing content and creating new material for six months.
• Assist in coordinating and providing content for our newsletter and various other monthly communications.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Experience in professional online communications
• Background in marketing, communications, writing, graphics, or media is an asset. Creativity and artistic know-how is valued.
• Self-motivated, vision-driven individual who enjoys planning projects. Experience developing and carrying out strategy is an asset.
• Talented at communicating and building a rapport with groups and individuals. Skilled at researching and gathering information.
• Passion for storytelling through visual media, and conveying personal/organizational narratives.
• Basic understanding/experience with nonprofit organizations
REQUIRED CAPABILITES:
• Understanding and passion for working with people affected by brain injury and spreading awareness of its impact.
• Proficiency at using online tools for communication, networking, analytics and CRM. Able to troubleshoot and find ways to improve the way we use these tools.
• Experience writing copy and/or content for a professional organization or business.
• Please provide proof of training/education and/or samples of previous work.
• Availability for a weekly on-site check-in at our First Hill location, and 5-10 weekly hours either remotely or at our office for at least six months.

Sidewalkers and Horse Leaders needed to help children & adults with special needs and injured armed forces personnel with equine-assisted services. No experience is necessary for sidewalking, leaders should have horse experience. Mondays through Thursdays, afternoons and evenings, May through October.Help children & adults, and injured soldiers with physical, mental, and emotional challenges, chronic illness, or symptoms of abuse or neglect, enjoy their lives to the greatest degree possible while giving them and their families hope utilizing the healing properties of horses.
