After a successful Gala, we are starting up our regular volunteer work night sessions again every 2nd & 4th Tuesday!

Our organization just doesn't run without you, our volunteers! Please come and help us manage all of our administrative tasks so we can keep our programs running smoothly. We have several upcoming Summer & Fall community programs happening and we need YOU to ensure they happen.

You are always welcome to bring someone outside of the Benevity platform with you - just let our new volunteer manager, Robin, know: robin@assew.org

Opportunity Details

The CEC is the young professionals board of the WHAS Crusade For Children, a Louisville-based nonprofit organization that raises millions of dollars each year to improve the quality of life for children with special needs. CEC members are ambassadors of the Crusade, invigorating a new generation of volunteers and supporters through volunteer engagements, fundraisers, speaking opportunities and more.

GiGi's Playhouse Simi Valley will be opening in the summer of 2024. We are seeking committee members to assist with Grand Opening needs. Committee members will be trained on the activity based on their area of interest. Needs include:

Date of event is TBD, but it will take place on a Saturday in July or August 2024. If you have some flexibility in your schedule and are available on Saturdays, this may be a great opportunity for you! Committees are being formed now. Subcommittees will meet regularly prior to the opening to plan their area or activity.

Seeing your excitement in person is always a great feeling, but if you register to walk in-person at 2024 Grand River MS Walk but decide later that you would prefer not to, that is totally ok. You are a part of the #MSWalk community, no matter where you walk!

Saayam org is based on two very simple mottos – "Manava Sevaye Madhava Seva" (Service to mankind is Service to God) and "Sarve jana sukhino bhavantu" (May all live happily).

When we are able to request for a car on Uber/Lyft app and order food on a Doordash app, why can't we request for help on an application? This is the main driver for this Saayam project.

Saayam means "help" in Telugu language. Equivalent words in other languages are - Sahaay in Sanskrit & Hindi, Banazhu in Mandarin and Ayuda in Spanish. Our goal is to help the humanity.

We are developing our web app in React, mobile app in React Native, backend using AWS services in Java, Python etc. We use Aurora with Postgres flavor.

Calling all dog lovers who would like to spend a few hours a week engaging with our young dogs-in-training at our Whidbey Island Campus. Learn positive reinforcement and socialization training skills while exercising and enriching the on-site dogs. Activities may include feeding, walking and exposing the dogs to training devices (wheelchairs, canes, adaptive devices). Come be a part of creating life-changing partnerships between people and dogs!

This event is to raise Autism Awareness in a fun, unique, family friendly way. We bring the community together to paint and hide rocks! On the back of each rock is info. on where to go to learn more about Autism. Why is this important? B/c we can never have enough enough awareness. More Autism Awareness means more acceptance, support and understanding.
