We need to expand our professional diversity, being comprised mostly of members from the education sector. The foundation needs board members who are willing to meet monthly, will accept a specific area of focus, and can give two or more hours a month to your role. Ideally, board members bring an expertise we don't have (finance, HR, research, funding, data protection, programming, social media...). Influencers are especially helpful because they can support fundraising.

We need help with this in our social media, web page, presentations, and especially with learning content. Riding To The Top's Herd Helpers enjoy working with horses, being physically active and all types of people and weather!Activities include barn chores, stall mucking and paddock picking at our beautiful 50 acre farm just outside Portland Maine.
RTT Herd Helpers keep our horses healthy and ready to work in therapeutic riding lessons, therapeutic carriage driving and equine assisted learning and therapies.

Saturday, May 16, 2020 we’ll come together VIRTUALLY on Facebook, with a live panel of Arthritis Foundation representatives, celebrities, influencers, engaged volunteers — and much more. We’re focusing on “54 for 54,” in honor of the 54 million people nationwide living with arthritis.

There are several positions required when working with disabled children and horses. We need side walkers, horse leaders, game players, groomers, barn helpers. It usually takes 3 volunteers per rider and we have multiple riders in a session.

Dave’s House Volunteer Coordinator (unpaid):Dave’s House is looking for outgoing Volunteer Coordinator to work with Dave’s House Staff.
You will oversee and facilitate volunteer requests and coordinate volunteer assignments at Dave’s House. This includes scheduling volunteers, planning and assisting with special projects, assisting in overseeing volunteers, along with maintaining a volunteer database.
Volunteer Coordinator Responsibilities:
• Processing volunteer applications and updating volunteer records
• Keeping a volunteer database (paper and electronic) up-to-date and accurate
• Assisting with the organization of regular volunteer training& orientations
• Supervising volunteers
• Assisting with special projects such as special event planning
• Corresponding with volunteers and prospective volunteers, mainly through email but occasionally via phone or text messaging
• Assist with scheduling volunteers utilizing a variety of methods, including online sign-up sheets
Volunteer Coordinator Qualifications:
• Previous internship or related experience in volunteer coordination is a plus
• Must be computer literate, including Internet research experience
• Professional demeanor and outstanding phone etiquette
• Ability to communicate professionally with volunteers
• Self-motivated, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, detail-oriented, ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
• Enthusiasm for the mission of Dave’s House and helping those with Serious Mental Illness.
