Our goal is to raise funds to provide equine assisted activities and therapeutic horseback riding for special needs individuals, Veterans with PTSD, and recreational activities for deployed service members’ children, and children of Fallen Heroes including First Responders.
SpiritHorse provides Equine Assisted Health-care which helps individuals with physical, emotional, and social challenges to improve their life with the help of the horses. Therapeutic horseback riding is proven to provide tremendous improvements in cognitive, physical, emotional and social well-being of the individuals who participate.

NAMIWalks Iowa brings together individuals and businesses to help raise funds, combat stigma, and raise awareness around mental illness through a 5K event. The goals of the 2019 NAMIWalks Iowa are to have 800 participants and to raise $100,000 through sponsorships and participants’ fundraising efforts. Proceeds of NAMIWalks Iowa are used to train volunteer teachers, facilitators, and presenters for NAMI Signature Programs statewide that help people with serious mental illness and their family members to live in recovery and wellness.

This event is a fundraiser for Marion Therapeutic Riding Association that is designed to raise awareness for our programming through inviting the community in for a holiday shopping extravaganza that will support small businesses and local vendors in our community at the same time. All vendor fees directly benefit our equine assisted programming allowing MTRA the opportunity to provide scholarships and services to individuals in our program and also potentially reduce our waiting list. We will have nearly 50 vendors along with a games and activities station for children to play, a vintage car show, and a photo opportunity area decorated with holiday theme. We have volunteers stationed in the vendor area, registration, vintage car area, parking, games & activities, photo areas, and assisting with set-up and tear-down that can help support this event and help it to run smoothly.
