The Teen Prom is designed for youth who are visually impaired and blind. Our teens and teens from surrounding Lighthouses come together to prepare for the event at the Lighthouse, and then they go to the Prom. They dance, eat, socialize, and play games. This event is so important for our visually impaired and blind teens--they need the same experiences others have in order to develop skills for now and the future.

Volunteers are needed at the Lighthouse to help the teens with makeup, hair, nails, and dressing, plus they are needed to help with snacks and cleanup. Some will take photos (we supply the camera) and some volunteers will also be needed at the Prom site for decorating.

From this year to 2022 we would like to organize both winter and summer vacations for our Special Friends: this will be done using special and suitable structures for the needs of our guests. Through these unique experiences cohesion and affection are developed between families who, in finding themselves, support each other.
We would also like to offer to some of our children and young people with disabilities the opportunity to join the annual Pilgrimage to Lourdes, certainly one of the most important event since the foundation of the Piccola Famiglia Onlus Association: this would be a concrete gesture of attention also towards who are looking for spiritual comfort and help.
We do need your help !
Why don't you join us ?

The Beeping Easter Egg Hunt & Activity Event (BEEH) is a wonderful activity designed for blind youth so they can fully participate in the hunt. We use beeping eggs which help those who can't see look for and find eggs. The hunt also provides our youth with recreation, exercise, and opportunities to develop adapted skills for independence (eg., socializing, safe movement, and integration of all the remaining senses). For parents and other sighted family members, the hunt connects them which provides each family with a larger network of support. Each year, several families with blind children choose to come to our hunt because other hunts don't have beeping Easter eggs.

Volunteers are needed to help with setup and tear down, and also to help provide all the activities which include the hunt, games & crafts, lunch, and a bake sale. One activity our volunteers really love to do is help young children find beeping eggs.

Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
