Come socialize with the Unicorn Centers' Day Activity Program while playing board games, craft activities, bingo ad other fun activities.The Unicorn Centers' Day Activity program provides our customers with an active, vibrant day program. Our team works closely with our clients - adults with ID (intellectual disabilities - formerly mental retardation) to be included in a community based environment where er help them learn, improve and retain the life skills that are necessary to live and participate successfully in home and community life.
Volunteers must be over 18 years old.

Looking for a Kind Volunteer with a Passion for Carpentry, Woodworking and Refurbishing!A Volunteer would want to consider this opportunity because it allows them to make a difference in the lives of seniors with memory impairment such as Alzheimer’s and/or dementia. The volunteer would be able to work on projects and add purpose to the lives of those attending. He or she would assist and teach our members in simple carpentry, woodworking, and furniture refurbishing. We are looking for a Volunteer with basic woodworking skill and creativity who is willing to come with ideas, a smile and patience. Our members have created benches, side tables, sanded and refurbished/ re-purposed furniture, made decorative signs and chalk painted. Volunteer would need to come with a plan and purposefully guide our members through the projects. Class sizes would be no more than 5 people, and we would like our volunteer to come twice a week. Oakwood Creative Care will provide needed supplies.

This year we're joining together with more than 20,000 retail locations across the country during the St. Patrick's Day season to raise even more money.We are looking for volunteers to help to: travel to retail stores in the community; pack kits in our district office and make calls to engage stores.

The Watson Institute, a special education organization serving students with special needs ages 3 to 21, is once again teaming up with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds for the 7th Annual Special Kick Clinic. Join Watson and the Riverhounds for an afternoon of soccer fun for children with special needs and their siblings. Volunteers are critical to the success of this event and without them, it would not be possible! We are seeking volunteers to be matched with a participant for the day. As a volunteer, you will eat lunch with your participant and his/her family and accompany them through each of the soccer clinic stations.Available Shifts

Opportunity Details
Climb to the Top MS is an annual National MS Society fundraiser at 200 Clarendon Tower (previously called the John Hancock Tower). Participants fundraise individually leading up to the event, then climb 61 flights to the top of the tower to support MS awareness, research, and people living with MS.Volunteers play a key role in Climb to the Top as they support the success, safety, and spirit of the event. Volunteer assignments include climber registration, first-aid, photography, finish line cheering, "stair-support", and more! This is a wonderful community service opportunity for companies, student organizations, athletic teams, and individuals!
