Put on your running shoes and spot one of our riders. Can't run? Come cheer the riders on from the stands.
While most of us take riding a bike for granted, 90% of youth with a developmental disability and 80% of youth with Autism never achieve this rite of passage. iCanBike seeks to change this and 85% of those who participate in this camp are riding a regular two-wheel bike when camp is over. This camp brings independence, health and wellness, and confidence to our riders. They can now be included in neighborhood bike rides with family and friends.

Share the Voice is celebrating its 5th birthday and celebrating the 126 bikes that we have given.

Our program was established to enhance the lives of disabled children. Recreational use of adaptive tricycles brings many rewards. It builds self-esteem and confidence, provides stress relief, increases social skills, strengthens weak muscles and stretches tight ones, and increases balance and gross motor skills. Owning a tricycle helps physically and cognitively challenged children become more independent and gives them the ability to socialize with typical children in their neighborhood. It gives them an outlet to be just like the other kids!

Anthesis is hosting its 7th Annual Run/Walk on Saturday, June 9th 2018 at the Fairplex in Pomona and we are looking for volunteers to help us make this year's event a success! Anthesis hosts this event every year to show our community what we are all about and to continue supporting the services and programs we provide for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are a nonprofit organization that has been making a difference in the lives of disabled individuals for more than 50 years! We have only been able to do this because of our dedicated team of staff members and those that have volunteered throughout the years.

There are plenty of opportunities for volunteers to offer their time and talents for our Run/Walk event. We are looking for volunteers that are willing and able to assist us with a range of activities including set up & clean up, time keeping, water station attendants, walk buddies, photographers, booth attendants (i.e. T-shirts, raffle, games), finish line greeters and more. Volunteering for this event is open to any and everyone out in the community as long as they are 16 years of age or older.

If you are interested in truly making a difference and assisting Anthesis with making our 7th Annual/Run Walk our best one yet or for more event information, please do not hesitate to contact Sebastian Morales at (909) 624-3555 Ext. 268 or sebastian@anthesis.us. All parties interested must confirm their interest in order to be placed on the official volunteer confirmation list. Thank you. Come and make a positive impact on our program participants and help us continue supporting our programs and services! You'll be glad you did!

The Marrakesh Agreement (June 2013) provides that accessible literature can be produced without the consent of the rights holder. This potential of internet for the Arab speaking disabled community led AlManarah to evolve from Braille to the first international online Accessible library in Arabic – ArabCast.org with Android and IOS phone apps.
In 2017 we made significant development of its infrastructure and constructed 3 new professional recording studio rooms. 2 recording studios for more audio book recordings and 1 for a community radio run by Arab people with disabilities. As part of the radio we also plan to create various podcasts.

We need volunteers to:

- review and check the library functions and give us a regular feedback
- further technically upgrade and improve the ArabCast.org site and mobile apps to be even more accessible and user friendly for people with print disabilities, fix bugs
- participate in creating the online community radio
- participate in creating podcasts - technically as well as with content
- help with technical support, backups of the Library files
- help with files editing
- help with videos, promotion and social media networking to extend the community of users worldwide (currently over 100,000 Arabic speaking users with print disabilities registered).
- assist as voice artists to increase the number of accessible audio books on the Library (currently 5,000)
- event, logistics, travel assistance and coordination support

Each year, thousands of people across the country join the Walk MS volunteer team. From serving on planning committees and calling past participants to providing safety and support for walkers at the event, volunteers make Walk MS happen, and are the foundation of why Walk MS is the largest gathering in the MS movement.

Who can volunteer?
Families, corporate groups and individuals are encouraged and welcome to volunteer. Some volunteer positions require a criminal and/or DMV background check, and some may involve driving or heavy lifting. But if you want to help, we guarantee we can find a place for you! Groups and individuals of all ages and abilities are invited to volunteer. We are always looking for youth clubs, corporate, and service-oriented community groups to lend a hand before, during, and after our events.

When you decide to volunteer, you become part of the MS movement--a collective of passionate individuals, moving together to create a world free of MS. Together we provide support, have fun, and make a difference in the lives of people living with MS.

Volunteer AND raise funds – the best of both worlds!
Did you know that volunteers can raise money too? Walk MS volunteers have access to a variety of great fundraising tools. When you register online, you have access to a Participant Center where you can set a fundraising goal, update your personal webpage to share your story with others, email supporters, track your progress and qualify for great fundraising prizes!
