The success of Walk MS is directly related to the wonderful volunteers who dedicate their time to the chapter. We welcome volunteers of all ages, abilities and talents to assist with a variety of volunteer opportunities on the day-of event. There is only one requirement - a desire to see a world free of MS!

Annual Walk to support NF Midwest in Illinois. NF (Neurofibromatosis) Midwest provides support, awareness, research funding, educations, continuing education scholarships, camp scholarships and so much more. The only way we can make this happen is through the generous donations provided through these walks!

NF is a highly variable and progressive genetic disorder that can cause tumors to grow on the nerves anywhere at any time. It can cause a host of other problems. NF patients who suffer from the most severe symptoms all live with uncertainty of whether they will some day be severely affected. It affects around 1 in 2,500 births, can be a spontaneous gene mutation and affects all races and gender equally. It the worst cases tumors mutate into malignant sarcomas and end in death in most cases.

Most cases begin to manifest and can be severe in children with many losing their children.

On April 21, 2018 DCRC will hold its 11th annual Bowl-A-Thon fundraiser to support deaf youth and family programs. Teams of five gather at Beaver-Vu Lanes, 1238 N Fairfield Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432 to have fun and raise funds. Most deaf or hard of hearing children (approximately 90%) are born to hearing parents who have little experience or former knowledge of deafness. Since hearing loss is considered a low incidence situation, most of those children also attend their neighborhood school where they may never have an opportunity to meet another child who wears hearing aids or has a Cochlear Implant. DCRC's Kid's Club activities are designed to bring families with children who have hearing loss together with other families to share experiences, resources, and just have fun. Kids develop an identity based on sameness, not differences. All our Kid's Club activities are funded by fundraising events, donations, and small grants. Organize your team/teams of five and come out to support the youth and family programs of DCRC.
