If you're interested in giving back to support our mission by sharing your passion for events, we'd like to talk with you.The Arc of King County serves children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and their families, from as early as a prenatal diagnosis and throughout their lifetime. We organize events to celebrate and support our client and family population every day. We are looking for people who can volunteer to help us with our event efforts.
Volunteer position summary:
In this volunteer position, you will help us to prepare and execute the 5k for Inclusion event. You will benefit by gaining experience at a community event, earn volunteer hours, and be inspired.
This annual event is important for us because it helps to raise awareness and funding to support our programs and activities for our community.
What you'll do:
Different event volunteers jobs can have a wide-range of tasks.
Event day registration and check-in
General event assistance
Event water station
Event course cheerleader
Set-up and clean up
Qualifications for this volunteer opportunity:
Great communication and interpersonal skills
Strong collaboration skills to work with and support Arc staff and fellow volunteers

Opportunity Details
Volunteer Ski or Snowboard Instructors required to teach children and youth with disabilities to downhill ski or snowboard 1 day or evening per week for a 7 weeks period in the winter. Training and certification provided for skiers and snowboarders with intermediate or better ability. Eligible for high school volunteer hours requirements. Cost of training, certification and lift tickets are covered by Track 3. Some weekend programs include transportation via bus.

The four ministries that make up the Grace Care Center include the Choice Food Pantry, ESL, Vehicle Ministry and Referral Services. Each week, 250 volunteers faithfully serve more than 400 families in these ministry areas. Serving opportunities include:Choice Food Pantry: Greeter, Personal Shopper, Register Worker, Stockers, Sorters & Others
ESL: Translators, Teachers
Referral Services: Financial Advisor, Job Advisor, Legal Advisor
Vehicle Services: Oil Change Helpers, Car Enthusiasts

Would you like to spend time with a senior care recipient in Sammamish - engaging in conversation, going for a short walk, completing a jigsaw puzzle - while ensuring a dedicated caregiver some much needed respite?Would you enjoy supporting a family caregiver whose hope it is to find care companionship for her mother while she takes some time to be with friends?
Volunteer hours are generally flexible but if you have availability on the weekend or weekday afternoon that would be ideal.

Volunteer Care Teams provide caregivers an opportunity for much-needed respite and self-care by working together with other volunteer team members to provide social, emotional, and practical support, helping to alleviate social isolation and caregiver burnout.
No minimum experience needed; Training and ongoing support provided.
As one caregiver said of her Care Team: "I truly am grateful for our team. Their kindness and their readiness to provide meaningful interaction with my husband [the care recipient] has been greatly beneficial to me not feeling isolated and alone. This week your team allowed me to see people I had not seen since before the Pandemic. All of the team is warm, friendly, and compassionate."
All volunteers must be at least 18 years old, currently residing in WA state.

Individual or group participation for one-time or ongoing support are welcomed.
Times are flexible during our program hours: Mondays - Fridays, 9:30am - 4:30pm.
Greet and socialize with participants during their arrival, activity programs, and transition times.
Provide positive encouragement to participants, supporting their engagement
Assist staff group leaders with setting up, facilitating, and cleaning up activities and related supplies.
Support group activities, which may include, but not be limited to:
Arts and crafts workshops
Story sharing discussions
Cognitive games
Show-and-tell (sharing your photos, performing music, etc.)
All volunteers must be at least 18 years old and willing to wear a face mask in the presence of clients.

Opportunity Details
Learn to grow plants in water!Urban Roots, Chrysalis Center's hydroponic growing center, produces a variety of lettuce, herbs, and assorted vegetables year-round that will support programs that feed those in need.
We need 2 volunteers during the week to assist with planting and harvesting of produce. Knowledge of hydroponic growing is helpful but not required.
We have plenty of free, on-site, secure parking.

Opportunity Details
This is an official Guinness World Record event to raise awareness about the need to expand autism services in San Antonio by building the largest blanket fort on the planet. We are looking for volunteers to help us build the 110' x 50' base of the fort on Friday, November 17 from 10am - 4pm and to secure the blankets on the fort on Saturday, November 18th from 8am - 12 noon. The event will include a free resource fair with 150 health and human service exhibitors on Saturday, November 18th from 10am - 2pm and an expected attendance of 4,000 people of all ages and abilities. After the event, the PVC pipe used for the base of the fort will be donated to Habitat for Humanity and the blankets that were donated by the public given to Haven for Hope for distribution to individuals and families served by their shelter. The event will take place at Toyota Field in partnership with the San Antonio FC, our professional soccer team.Available Shifts
