We need help with the following: set up, watching silent auction items, help serving food and clean up. ALL VOLUNTEERS GET FREE ADMISSION!The Greatest Spectacle in Tasting is an annual event in Kokomo that supports Bona Vista Programs, a comprehensive rehabilitation center for adults and children with disabilities. This event is an opportunity for the community to sample great wines and microbrews from Soupley’s Wine & Spirits and wonderful food from 30 local restaurants all while supporting Bona Vista.
In 2019, more than 750 people attended the Greatest Spectacle in Tasting and helped us raise more than $60,000! We are celebrating the 26th year for the event, and our goal is to have 1,000 in attendance this year!
Through the help of our volunteers, we are able to put on the Greatest Spectacle in Tasting - Bona Vista’s biggest fundraiser!

Planting, weeding, and maintaining our community garden (Spring/Summer)
Supporting special events throughout the year
Assisting with tax preparation through our VITA program (tax season only)
Teaching life-skills classes as part of the RENEW program
Helping families shop in our Christmas Morning Shoppe (December only)

Activities/Tasks:
Ensure compliance with the corporation’s by-laws and regulations
Ensure than an annual budget is prepared and approved
Not be an active client in any of the sponsored programs of the agency
Attend 75% of board meetings and meetings of committees of which you are a member
Ensure that CMHA has access to competent legal and accounting services
Ensure that the Board of Directors as whole determines policies and management of the affairs of CMHA
Record all volunteers hours and submit on a monthly basis
Participate in fund raising and other events

We are EXCITED to announce that GiGi's Playhouse will host a BREW HA-HA as its 9th annual Spring Fundraiser on April 27th, 2019 at the Majestic Theatre in Kankakee, IL.This event is our largest and most important fundraiser of the year, and key to providing programs for individuals with Down syndrome AND their families!This year’s event will feature outstanding comedians and beverages, silent auction and raffle items, appetizers and inspiration from our individuals with Down syndrome! We will also celebrate the achievements of GiGi’s Playhouse Bradley-Kankakee and our individuals with Down syndrome.
For the last six years, GiGi’s Playhouse Bradley-Kankakee has served as a trusted partner in achievement, belief and confidence for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. We offer therapeutic based and educational programs free of charge so that cost is never a barrier to participation or achievement.
Our core message is Global Acceptance for everyone, which we live out every day by celebrating the achievements of individuals with Down syndrome through programs, special events and critical social change campaigns. With that said, our programs are not free to deliver. We need funding for our programs that will affect not only today’s generation but also tomorrow’s.

The event is fun and family oriented with live music and a BBQ. There will be K9 demonstrations and K9 “meet and greets” with the Paterson NJ Police K9 Unit. Donations received are used to purchase police K9s, support the K9s with tactical equipment, including Canine Counterterrorism Operational First Aid Kits™ (COFAKs™) and for K9 educational purposes.Volunteer Duties: Set-up and tear-down of tables and chairs, greeters and event fee collection, support staff for Paterson NJ Police K9 teams and for Tails of Hope at both organizations display tables for donation collections of T-Shirts and other items, hosting food and beverage stations, and distribution of educational literature.
Free parking, but all tolls and travel expenses are the responsibilities of the volunteers.

This event involves thousands of people from all over the world. Tails of Hope hosts one of the most popular booths and related activities including: K9 “meet and greet”, K9 demonstrations with MTA Counterterrorism K9 teams, Paterson NJ Police K9 teams, Paws for a Cause and many other K9s. Tails of Hope team members at our booth will include law enforcement, EMTs and trauma specialists. At times visitors share personal, private and emotional conversations with us concerning the loss of loved ones or those traumatized by the 9/11 attacks. Confidentiality is critical.Tails of Hope Foundation carries a sacred responsibility to remember the fallen of 9/11 including Port Authority Police K9 “Sirius” who was murdered on 9/11/2001, honor the K9 teams who served in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks and support those serving America’s homeland and deployed worldwide.
Volunteer Duties: Set-up and tear-down of Tails of Hope’s booth, assist with crowd control for “meet and greet” with the K9 teams and for K9 demonstrations with the diverse group of working dogs who will be appearing with us, distribution of educational literature, hosting of food and beverage for our honored K9 Hero handlers. Everyone works as a team and specific assignments cannot be selected by the volunteers, but all volunteers will be in close proximity of the K9s and K9 professionals and will have a chance to interact with them.
