Each year our organization puts on an event called the Disability Pride Parade and Festival and this year’s event is on Saturday July 27, 2019. On July 26, 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law and discrimination against people with disabilities became illegal. This important occasion is the basis for the Annual Disability Pride Parade and Festival. We have a big parade through downtown Buffalo and a giant festival at Canalside with live music, entertainment, free food, kid’s activities, vendors and much more!

The goal of the Disability Pride Parade and Festival is to promote inclusion, awareness and visibility of people with disabilities, and redefine the public perception of disability. There are thousands of people within WNY who have disabilities. People with disabilities are the largest and most diverse minority within the population representing all abilities, ages, races, ethnicities, religions and socio-economic backgrounds.
