The purpose of the Area 17 Polar Plunge is to raise funding for local athletes in Van Buren, Berrien, and Cass counties. Your support will allow them to participate in year-round training and competition at no cost to them or their families. Opportunity Details
This will be a great project and will be stuffing papers and/or small objects into bags for event attendees. These items come from sponsors that help support our event and are wonderful resources for families that need them. At our actual event on 3/3/19 where these bags will be handed out, it is the largest autism resource fair in Minnesota. Many great resources are available to families of those with children or adult family members with autism. This event is a celebration of those individuals on the spectrum.Available Shifts

Opportunity Details
Scooters Place is an Adaptive Riding Program that works with children and adults with special needs. We strive to keep costs down for riders and our goal is to never to turn anyone down due to ability to pay for the program.Program costs do not cover our overhead. We rely on donations, fundraising and grants to cover our costs. The Grant Writer position would help us to achieve these goals.
Into 2019 we are looking to add a Veterans Program and Emergency Responders Program.
We have a wonderful facility that needs updating to accommodate these programs and wheelchair riders.
We are doing great work here. We invite you to come be a part of this vital program.

Project Inclusion is a one day conference and training Best Buddies student leaders, advisors and parents. It features guest speakers and workshops focusing on the ideas of leadership development, inclusion, disability awareness and advocacy. Looking for volunteers to help with:Set-up & Registration: Volunteers will assist with setting up the breakout and communal spaces for the conference sessions; check in/register attendees; help serve breakfast; sell Best Buddies merchandise; take pictures at our photo booth.
Lunch Prep: Best Buddies will provide lunch to all attendees. Volunteers will be needed to help set-up and serve food.
World Café Discussion Leaders:
World Cafe is a session that provides attendees the opportunity to connect, share, brainstorm ideas and trouble shoot challenges to further explore their own goals and commitment to the disability rights movement. Discussion leaders will be provided with facilitation guide and questions. No prior experience needed.
Clean-up & Tear Down:
Volunteers are needed to clean-up the breakout and communal spaces and check-out attendees as they leave.

Throughout the year, members attend and host fundraising, educational, and networking events, as well as participate in volunteer activities providing the opportunity to interact with the children and families served by Easterseals.”Our Goals

Every guest of Night to Shine enters this complimentary event on a red carpet complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi. Once inside, guests receive the royal treatment, including limousine rides, professional photography, hair and makeup stations, corsages and boutonnieres, shoe shines, a catered dinner, karaoke room, a Respite Room for parents and caretakers, and, of course, a dance floor... all leading up to the moment when each guest is crowned a king or queen of the prom. As you can imagine, we want our Night to Shine to be the best prom in the world, so we are contacting you in hopes that you will consider helping us make that possible by volunteering for this awesome event..
