Co-Pilots help us raise our Pilot Puppies until they can start their formal guide dog training, and this is a VITAL stage in their development…the puppies get to experience a loving home environment, and learn important household manners, and form positive habits. All of this contributes to their success as a Pilot Dog, ultimately leading to transforming the life of someone who is blind or visually impaired, or a veteran who has selflessly served our country.

Co-Pilots provide housing, care, training, and love for puppies from the time they are 8-10 weeks old until the age of about 18 months (or until requested back by Pilot Dogs).

**If you aren’t able to commit that much time, there are always flexible short-term Co-Piloting options available.

We are committed to ensuring that you have a successful and rewarding Co-Pilot experience, and will provide you with all the tools that you need:

-A leash, a collar, a vest, a starter toy, starter food, and flea/tick/heartworm preventatives
-Free veterinary care
-Free boarding if you need to go out of town and can't take your Pilot Puppy
-Hands-on, comprehensive obedience training at our world-class training facility
-Infinite amounts of puppy kisses and unconditional love.
We'll be there for you with continuous feedback, support, and partnership every step of the way!

On June 22nd & 23rd, we are hosting our 2nd annual All-Stars MobilePack in partnership with Feed My Starving Children and West Bowles Community Church. Volunteers from all over the metro area will come together to pack more than 100,000 meals for starving children in the poorest of countries. You won't find a volunteer event that is so much fun, has so much energy, and serves such an incredible cause. Please invite your friends, co-workers, members of your churches and life groups, and anyone else you think might enjoy this opportunity to give back.
Our session on Friday, June 22nd will be for individuals with special needs to pack meals. We need volunteers on this day to serve as buddies with those with special needs assisting them as they pack the meals (watch last year's event: https://youtu.be/ds5tOhhtuMo )
Our sessions on Saturday, June 23rd will be our general packing sessions for anyone wanting to assist in packaging the meals. There's a job for all abilities and all ages. Great for families to do this together. We will offer 2 packing sessions - 10am til noon & 1pm til 3pm. (watch last year's general packing sessions: https://youtu.be/mE4jA1m-xlo )
Volunteers can serve at both or one day.

Come hang out with MDA families and Gowen Field Fire Fighters at our Pre-Camp Party! There will be food, fire fighter games and activities, and beautiful weather (fingers crossed). We would love to have some people help set up, manage food, assist with child friendly activities and clean up. This will be a pretty casual party and a great place to meet some of the families you help directly every time you volunteer with MDA.
