I am excited to invite you to be a part of Citizen Advocates first annual Winter Ball. We are inviting people all over Washington County of all abilities to join in celebrating 2024 and all of our diversity and uniqueness!Citizen Advocates works to make a difference in the lives of people, like the people in the picture below, by creating relationships that see beyond disabilities. Advocates are volunteers, (individuals and groups) who are willing to take a chance and begin a relationship with someone with disabilities that are often overlooked and not thought of as valuable to the vitality and depth of our community make up. We work with individuals of all ages and abilities, facilitating peer mentor programs in schools, a music program, community bingo, an arts opportunity, community events and respite programs for families. In 2024 we are working towards growing our respite program and expanding our community opportunities for people with disabilities to be involved in the community. This Winter Ball is one of those new opportunities.
Volunteers are a necessary part of this event for set up, clean up, check in and generally just being a friendly face before, during and after the event.
