The Eastern Washington Long Term Care Ombudsman program, operated by SNAP, is recruiting new volunteers specifically needed in the communities surrounding Spokane. Over 150 nursing homes, assisted living or long term care facilities in our region do not have a local ombudsman resource for the residents, families, and staff to assure that residents receive quality care.

Volunteers with the SNAP Long-Term Care Ombudsman program stand on guard for residents of assisted living centers, adult family homes and nursing homes in Spokane County and four other Eastern Washington counties. Volunteers alert the proper authorities to a variety of concerns such as inadequate care, abuse, insufficient nutrition, financial fraud and issues with medications.

Referrals are made to local organizations like Residential Care Services or Adult Protective Services. LTCO also collaborates with Aging and Long Term Care of Eastern Washington.

The program covers the cost of mileage and provides ongoing training and support for volunteers.

Screening for the next group of LTCO volunteers is currently underway. Training takes place Spring and Fall at the SNAP Whistalks Way building (3102 W. Whistalks Way near Spokane Falls Community College).

Voltour
Ladli Foundation Trust, a renowned non-profit organization in special consultative status with United Nations Economic and social council and officially associated with Delhi Police and other prestigious government departments is inviting enthusiastic young minds from global community to explore the India and experience the humanity though its Voltour Certificate Program. It is especially designed for enabling young minds with ground realities and field-based in-depth knowledge through its action research projects concerning Primary Healthcare, status of women and youth in underprivileged section of the society.

Voltour Certificate Program aims to enhance the in-depth knowledge and leadership qualities of youth population and involving them in grassroot level activities to develop their effective contribution for achieving Sustainable Developmental Goals. It also envisions to create a community of young social reformers to bring a reformative change in the society by encouraging others to make a Chain of Changemakers.

Especially for working on Covid19 Pandemic situation that need urgent attention to support India

About the Cause
It can be clearly stated that this pandemic has affected the total population severely as it has disrupted everyday living & have risen other shadow pandemics such as unemployment economic downfall, poverty increement, hunger, violence against women and disasteraous healthcare infrastructure. It has made domestic workers & laborers groups most vulnerable as they lost their jobs due to not being allowed in residential colonies & at workplaces. Now these people are facing immense difficulties in feeding their family members especially those newborns who are not even getting milk from their mothers due to malnutrition.

Action

Since the pandemic began, Ladli Foundation has consistently been working at grassroots level through our relief activities by providing Dry Ration, Milk Supply, Sanitary Kits, Masks & Hand Wash to the Domestic & Migrant Laborers in the different slums of Delhi NCR. Till now we have benefitted more than 1 lakh families and are continuously working in the field with the support of local police for identifying the people who are in extreme need.
Humanity means to stand for the ones who are in dire need of support, and ultimately making them stable by consistent efforts in the time of crisis. We are seeking support to help those who were always with us in our good and bad. We invite you to join us in this noble cause as now is the time to help the marginalised workers in overcoming this difficult phase, and to serve mankind by doing humanitarian deeds.

Impact
The aim is to address the pressing concerns related to hunger and malnutrition that majorly affects the body's immune system required to battle covid 19 and other life-threatening diseases. Providing dry ration, milk for babies, and essential commodities will give immediate relief to laborers and domestic workers who have lost their jobs. It will also play a vital role in preventing them from getting involved in antisocial or criminal activities. Supporting the people in lower strata is always essential as it is directly connected to the society's overall well-being and peace to avoid unwanted situations like riots, robbery, mass killing, etc.
The most significant positive impact of this action is to give a ray of hope that society will help those in need to overcome these difficult times.

About Us
Driven by the upliftment of the underprivileged section, Ladli Foundation was established as a grassroots non-profit organization now in Special Consultative Status with United Nations, Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). With a mission of building an inclusive, gender sensitized society with equal access to essential healthcare and educational amenities, the foundation has been diligently working at pan India level and known for implementing highly impactful and innovative action research initiatives with its effective community outreach in urban and rural slums. Serving over 1 million direct beneficiaries, Ladli needs your support to continue serving underprivileged people and save young girls from clutches of trafficking to improve their conditions and dignity in life.
