As a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of service to others, City Year considers Martin Luther King Day as a day ‘on’ not ‘off’. Each MLK Day, City Year mobilizes its 3,300 AmeriCorps members and thousands of volunteers for a day of service in communities across the nation. In coordination with local partners, City Year AmeriCorps members and volunteers engage in service projects that include painting schools, beautifying neighborhoods and parks, and assembling community resource kits.Choose one of the opportunities listed below and volunteer with City Year Denver on January 20, 2020!

The 2020 Catalyst Rehab Telethon is scheduled for Saturday, February 1st, 2020 from 11:00am to 8:00pm. The broadcast will be live on WMFD from Center Court at Richland Mall. All proceeds will benefit Catalyst Life Services. Your tax-deductible contribution will assist us in providing services to those who would not otherwise be able to access these life-changing benefits. We are asking the community for your continued support of the Telethon as the need for our services continues to grow. Your contribution, in any amount, will assist us in providing services to those in need. Catalyst Life Services has been serving the community as a non-profit comprehensive rehabilitation center under various names for over 65 years, continually evolving to meet the needs of the community.Catalyst Life Services is:
• Audiology & Deaf Services: offering interpreting services, education, and training to Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing individuals, their families, professionals, and the community, and offering audiology services such as hearing evaluations, hearing aid sales and service for all ages.
• Addiction Services: offering supportive options to address substance abuse concerns including residential services, intensive out-patient services, group and individual counseling, relapse prevention, medication assisted treatment and detoxification.
• Vocational Services: offering employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities or whom are overcoming barriers to employment. We provide onsite training to our clients in the areas of embroidery, digital print, lawn care services, custodial services, and manufacturing while also offering cost-effective industrial solutions for business and the community.
• Mental Health and Crisis Services: offering many program options for families and individuals including assessment & treatment planning, individual and group counseling, school counseling, case management, medical psychiatric services and nursing services. Our team members work closely with children and their families to address mental health and behavioral concerns.
The 2020 Catalyst Rehab Telethon will feature area talent from 11:00am to 8:00pm. All entertainment will perform “LIVE” in Center Court at Richland Mall. Local celebrities, VIP hosts, community guests and success stories of clients who have benefited from Catalyst Life Service's services will be featured throughout the day. Special “fun” events “in the wings” including face painting, magicians, a minion and a few of our furry and feathered friends will be showcased throughout the mall. Volunteers from local businesses, service clubs and organizations will answer the telephones for the Telethon at Richland Mall.
