Created in partnership with East Central ISD and CAST Schools Network, CAST Lead is an in-district choice high school serving 8th through 12th grade students that focuses on career and college readiness in the areas of retail and business management, e-commerce, hospitality and tourism and agribusiness.

Opportunity Details

At Chino High School's 77th Cavalry Band Review and Invitational, approximately 60 school bands will perform in parade and/or field show competitions. Every year, we host approximately 10,000 performers and spectators in our school stadium. This is our programs largest fundraiser, and is important because it helps fund music education for our students. Our band consists of approximately 130 musicians and pageantry performers who come from predominantly minority and lower socio-economic backgrounds and strive for musical excellence as well as academic success. Our program instills teamwork, determination, pride, and respect in our students. We need help making this event a success.

Opportunity Details

The LA Global Street Festival is a new festival in the heart of the Pico-Union neighborhood meant to share resources for small businesses, street vendors, and entrepreneurs and help grow the community's inclusive economy.

United Way of Greater Los Angeles will support this event hosted by LIFT, KYCC, Pico Union Project, and Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez. Volunteers will be helping with setup of the fair and help build backpacks that will be distributed to children of the community.
Qualifications:
- Volunteers must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Preferred bilingual (Spanish) but not required

We would love support from BMO employees to host a session about Financial Literacy for our program alums, who are currently in college. Some subjects that they would be interested in:
- How to create a budget (budget template),
- Smart Credit Card Use + Credit Score, Financial Goal Setting,
- How to grow wealth (active vs.passive income),
- How to invest (stocks, bonds, etc), investing, building credit, retirement planning,
- and Taxes
