PURPOSE/GOAL OF RESOURCE MOBILIZATION ACTIVITY: To acquire financial resources to fund our organization charity programs in TurkanaIMPORTANCE OF RESOURCE MOBILIZATION ACTIVITY:
1. It will ensures the continuation of BLEC service provision to clients
2. It will Supports BLEC sustainability
3. Allows for improvement and scale-up of services the organization currently provides
RESOURCE MOBILIZATION OFFICER DUTIES:
1. Exploring funding sources and strategic partnership opportunities from the potential donors identified in the strategy;
1. Create and coordinate partnerships on, to enhance collaboration, advocacy, resource mobilization and knowledge sharing;
2. Draft, review and provide quality assurance for technical donor reports, proposals, modification requests, and any other type of fundraising documents and ensure their timely submission.
3. Prepare and review concept notes and proposals for donor funding across all BLEC programs as needed;
4. Analysis and research of information on donors, preparation of substantive briefs on possible areas of cooperation and identification of opportunities for cost-sharing
5. Organize resource mobilization events for example, Donor Round Tables.

Launching or growing a business can be complicated and overwhelming.The many factors involved - money, team, technology, marketing, legal, accounting - cause many people who want to be entrepreneurs and business owners to forego the opportunity to invest in their own talents, skills, and ideas.Even worse, some people count themselves out before fully exploring or understanding their options.
Black Connect’s Business & Entrepreneur Assessment (BEA) Program helps individuals who aspire to launch or grow a business venture, but need a roadmap to achieving their goals.This assessment program can help members to not only understand their strengths and capabilities, but can also provide useful guidance for creating a business plan and finding additional resources.The BEA program is the first component of Black Connect’s developing business incubator.
Objectives
The BEA helps participants answer fundamental questions such as:
1. Is entrepreneurship and business ownership right for me?
2. What type of business is best suited for me?
3. What roles do I need to fill for my business idea to succeed?
4. Should I form a corporation, LLC, or sole proprietorship?
5. How should I market my business?
6. What expenses should I expect in launching my business?
7. How do I develop a prototype?
8. How can I acquire more customers?
9. Which technology is best for my business?
10. How can I strengthen my business plan?
Features and Benefits for Business Mentors ("Mentors")
Mentors do not have to be business owners. Only experience in a business-related area is needed - sales, marketing, product development, insurance, accounting, law, banking, etc. We also need mental health professionals (therapists, counselors) who can help members cope with the stress of owning a business.
Mentors serve in a voluntary capacity.
Mentors play an integral part of helping Black Connect fulfill its mission of launching and growing Black-owned businesses.
Mentors may be designated moderators of the Black Connect Business Forum on Blackconnect.com.

Job DescriptionIn its mission to establish sustainable and responsible whale watching where it is needed, R&E is looking for a Marketing Coordinator to support its online marketing goals. The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director and Lead Researcher. This exciting role will promote the foundation and support the program for the “Todos Somos Pacífico” project. This motivated and well-spoken individual will be responsible for maintaining marketing material and the foundations social media presence. The successful candidate will support the development of the foundation and all initiatives essential in the growth of the foundation overall.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Work with the Executive Director to create and implement strategies for fundraising and grant growth
· Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective partners
· Create fundraising materials suitable for presentation to prospective contributors
· Identify and research prospects
· Market to potential sponsors, partners, foundations or donors,
· Cultivate and maintain partnerships through stewardship
· Manage the database for potential partners, and build partnerships with businesses in line with the sustainability strategy
· Support with identifying and applying for sponsorship/grants opportunities
· Drive further diversification of funding; for example, through individual giving or crowdfunding
· Support with creation and setup of crowdfunding campaigns, including engagement of strategic partners
· Ensure all work is developed, organized, recorded, and tracked, with the opportunity to propose more effective ways of working; and
· Conduct regular reviews of the marketing and fundraising strategy
Skill/Aptitudes
· Passion for environment/marine conservation. Strong desire to see positive change for the environment, marine life, and community livelihood through sustainable coastal development.
· Proficiency in English (Spanish is an asset).
· Excellent verbal and written communication.
· Strong organizational and project management ability; must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
· A proactive, self-motivated and resourceful team member able to work independently and remotely, while maintaining strong communications with international team members.
· Motivated to act independently in advancing program goals while also being able to take direction
and follow organizational procedure.
· Tactful, organized, persistent, sense of humour.
· Possess good interpersonal skills, agility to think and act strategically.
· High level of proficiency in MS Office applications, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
Requirements:
· Previous experience in marketing/fundraising (professional and/or voluntary) is a valuable asset.
· Experience in corporate productivity tools including Microsoft office suite and database management software.
· Proven experience with small and medium companies in a start-up phase.
· Act as an ambassador throughout the community, positively representing the foundation.

We are trying to raise 2,000 backpacks filled with supplies. We are also providing free physicals, free haircuts, and free food for the families that attend this awesome community event.
