Lend us a helping hand to maintain our facilities in good shape by assisting in re-painting the walls and shared spaces at Children’s Rescue Fund’s 1520 Brook Avenue site.

Before we begin, we’ll host a brief “Understanding Homelessness” conversation to share more about the challenges faced by the families we serve, the impact of shelter environments on mental and emotional well-being, and how projects like this directly contribute to restoring dignity and hope.

Previous painting experience is not required. We will equip you with everything you need on the day.

Your contribution will make a significant impact on the overall look and functionality of the space. Let's work together to create a warm and inviting environment for the families and children who call this shelter home.

Refreshments and snacks will be provided on the day.

About UCRISP
After 15 years working on sustainable development in developing countries and more than 30 years of professional experience, we understand that environmental challenges occur at different levels, directly on the ground from the grassroots, at municipalities, and regionally, but also at the governmental policy level within the countries where we work. We help provide capacity to government officials, and in parallel, assist in the transformation of current policies away from a fixation on the development of infrastructure that disturbs and destroys established ecosystems, drains communities resources, and replicates and reinforces practices that will not sustain our species and others in the New Climatic Regime.

The funds UCRISP receives go towards developing practical sustainable strategies that mitigate the effects of climate change in communities experiencing swift ecological and social changes and transformations. Because we are small, we are efficient and effective, and use fewer resources compared to most organizations working on similar issues. The feasibility studies developed by UCRISP help communities obtain funds and transform well-established policies, always working toward sustainable outcomes.

Support your community by volunteering at a pop-up tax clinic hosted in partnership with the Canada Revenue Agency and Service Canada. Assist attendees in accessing government services, answering questions, and directing them to the right resources. This initiative helps bridge the gap between community members and essential government services.

Many people face barriers such as language, technology, or lack of awareness when trying to access benefits, file taxes, or apply for their SIN. As a volunteer, you play a key role in making these services more accessible and inclusive, especially for vulnerable or underserved populations.

It’s also a meaningful opportunity to build your skills, gain insight into public service, and make a tangible impact in your community. It's a great chance to make a difference and gain valuable experience.

HI, we need help! We have a structure that needs to be demolished and build on that and also some concrete needs to be poured.
If you have tools -- Great! Just mark them with tape or marker
If you have a truck and don't mind getting it dirty or dinged up (because metals can be carried and taken to the recycle center).
If you have no experience and just feel like demoing or using tools -- cool
If you have experience and know how to manage a group of volunteers (if you know builders, so much the better) -- you want to be on the advisory board??
