UWMC’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance service (VITA) provides free tax counseling and preparation to working families and individuals. Last year, volunteers helped bring back
millions in refunds and credits back into our local economy.

When you volunteer with us for this opportunity you will be helping us recruit volunteer tax preparers and greeter/screeners through phone calls to past volunteers that will staff the sites during tax season.

A volunteer recruitment and engagement specialist will also be actively involved in the C-ID community and increase awareness and visibility of Helping Link/Một Dấu Nối.

Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Executive Director you will:

Write, edit, update and manage recruitment ads
Develop and cultivate positive relationships with professional networks, nearby schools, universities, businesses, residents, churches and temples, community centers and other community members in the Little Saigon/Chinatown/International District neighborhoods
Seek out new opportunities for placement of recruitment ads within schools, professional networks and young professional community forums
Manage communication with prospective volunteers, donors, clients and members of the board
Help develop Helping Link/Một Dấu Nối’s vision and future strategy for board of members, sponsors, clients, and future volunteers
Lead volunteer onboarding sessions twice a month

Help the Orion Township community build a playground at Camp Agawam. Orion Township received a grant through the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. foundation to build a dream playground at Camp Agawam through the Built to Play Fund and KaBOOM! This is a community-build playground project; a playground built by the community for the community. At least 300 volunteers are needed for this large scale project. Work is available for volunteers of all levels of skill and ability. All youth under 18 will be welcome to participate in youth activities, but will not be able to participate in playground construction areas.

The playground build will happen rain or shine. Please come dressed for teh weather. Closed-toe shoes are required; sneakers or work boots that you don't mind getting dirty are advisable. Please leave valuable at home as secure storage is not available on site.

Food, water, entertainment, and kid activity stations will be provided.
