LifeTime Project offers literacy workshops for Cameroonian women aged from 16 to 60 years old. These women have a great desire to develop their own businesses, but illiteracy remains the main obstacle towards their goal.
Most of them have never or only briefly been to school.
These workshops are a great tool towards entrepreneurship, and the development of their independence.
The goal of the mission: we wish to help these women improve their living conditions, their social recognition and to gain their autonomy and also to realise the importance of keeping their own daughters at school.

Required Skills:
Volunteers will have to have very strong knowledge of written and spoken French, be patient and be able to adapt their classes to the educational material made available. A great open-mindedness and a capacity to adapt is necessary for your participation on this project.

Grandmothers Who Help will need volunteers to help us with our annual Tech Table at The David E. Glover Center, Oakland, Ca. (Education Week- Kwanzaa and S.T.E.M.H. The purpose is to encourage and foster relationships with professionals from the tech industry to reiterate the importance of S.T.E.M.H. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Black History) in schools, and in the workplace, especially those professionals with similar backgrounds as our children. These venues are important to children and parents who may not otherwise be exposed to understanding the concepts of S.T.E.M. and its importance to their future.
Providing parents and children a fun and educational experience to learn about the connection between African American Inventors, Scientist, Technologist, Engineers, and Mathematicians, is essential to creating positive self-esteem. Our goal is to help inform our communities about S.T.E.M.H. , and how important the availability of a "S.T.E.M.H." curriculum in our educational institutions are to the success of the community and the future of our next generations.
