Community Members who are in a position to make changes and improve their financial wellness are paired with dedicated volunteer coaches. Together, they develop a plan of action that will help the member achieve their financial goals. With support from a personal financial coach, community members can maintain a spending plan, save for a new car or home, start an emergency savings or vacation fund, maximize their tax refund, review their credit report and increase their score, create a debt management plan, understand financial products and services, align their financial goals with professional and personal goals, and so much more!

As a Financial Coach, you will be a source of accountability and encouragement for your coaching partner. United Way Suncoast will provide virtual training in motivational interviewing, coaching techniques, financial technology, and additional opportunities to expand your knowledge. Since formal background in financial education is not required, informal education or personal experience is acceptable. The goal of IMPACT Texas Backpack to School Bash Rosenberg, TX is providing backpacks filled with school supplies to underserved students who reside in affordable housing communities (federal assistance) and attend Title 1 schools where 50% (or higher) of the students live below the federal government poverty level. Additionally, the students receive toiletries, snacks, fruit and water.

The purpose of this program is to provide basic schools supplies to students to remove barriers to academic success.

IMPACT Texas Backpack to School Bash is extremely important for students and their families. Having basic school supplies has a positive IMPACT on a student’s self-esteem and creativity. IMPACT Texas is offering a "Hand Up" to the families by providing school supplies which allows many parents to purchase other necessities their child may need such as clothing, shoes, coats, food etc.

This Bash is an exciting and fun way for students to connect with friends and community members prior to the new school year. It's a community economic development program service full of free, fun festivities!

Dear Community Partner,

The Self Help Center is excited to be planning its 6th annual Lip Sync Battle Fundraiser! This year’s theme is “Lip Sync Battle: Creating Change.” This event allows further funding to help provide support services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and elder abuse. Our event will be held on May 12th, 2023 at the Best Western Downtown (former Parkway Plaza). Cocktail hour will begin at 6 PM; the main event will begin at 7 PM.

The Self Help Center provides 24-hour crisis intervention and support services to victims in our community. We offer a 30-day emergency shelter to those who may be in immediate danger, help with protection orders, mental health services, substance use treatment, and youth prevention education programs. Funds raised through this event will help us continue the work of our mission: Prevent-Shelter-Heal.

The Lip Sync Battle will be an exciting evening where six local contestants, from six different financial institutions, will battle to be the best Lip Sync performer. In addition, we will be having a live auction and program paddle raiser. Our event is funded 100% by community contributions and would not be possible without our generous community partners. We are asking for your support. We welcome sponsorships, cash donations, items for our silent auction packages, or any other support you may give.
Should you choose to donate, we will make sure your name is printed in the event program. Any donation is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Jennifer Dyer at: (307) 235-2814 or email me: jdyer@shccasper.com.
We appreciate your consideration!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Dyer
Executive Director
Self Help Center
