The goal of the Speed Mentoring Event is to allow NPower trainees to practice their skills at networking and business communications. During the event, volunteers and trainees will be paired for brief discussions allowing trainees to practice their elevator pitch, make connections with tech professionals, and gain insight into potential career paths.

Our non-profit co-working facility located in the Shops at Perry Crossing in Plainfield serves the local and visiting professional communities by providing a low-cost professional workspace to do business. During May and June, we also host many graduation open houses in order to support celebrating educational accomplishments. The walls have been through years of magic-erasering through the "covid years" and are in need of fresh coats of paint before local families begin celebrating graduations and taking photos for lifetime memories!

We will have the paint and supplies ready, tunes playing, and snacks and caffeine to keep you going! :)

Opportunity Details

MDC Iowa is looking for volunteers to help with projects and classes at Iowa's first and only community-based makerspace. Our goal is to help community members increase their creative confidence and embrace a DIY/maker mindset. The ideal volunteers would have some experience with various woodworking tools like drills, saws, and general hand tools. Volunteers with CNC, laser cutter/ engraver, or 3D printing experience would be a dream come true.

Opportunity Details

Through a fortunate partnership provided by snapdragon stadium, we are invited to help run certain concession stands as volunteers. Snapdragon will then make a donation to the foundation based off of the total number of sales made at the end of the event. These financial contributions help our operating costs as a nonprofit in our efforts to better our community.

The program additionally, aims to engage Hispanic college students enrolled in business courses interested in starting small businesses. We will offer speaking engagements with business management and financial experts to the Hispanic small business community in need of these resources and skills.

With the help of USAA, we are looking for experts in business and financial management fields to donate their time to teach their skills to students and the community. The topics we would like expert assistance with are:

• Mortgage Loans, and
• Financial Independence.

Through this community event on Sunday, April 16, 2023, the Live Oak Education Foundation is fundraising to supplement art programming for students in the Live Oak School District in Santa Cruz, CA. Community members gather on this morning from 8am to 1pm to cheer on runners, enjoy live music, art & fitness activities, food trucks and a merchant marketplace.
