JA Movie Premiere is a family fundraising event. The percentage of the tickets go to kids in low-income schools and to our charity partners. Kids get to bring their entire families and see a movie while enjoying popcorn and other treats! Students and their families leave with smiles, having spent half a day with the people they love, having a great time. JA adds to the excitement of the theater experience with activities including raffles, door prizes, and trivia.VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:
Looking for volunteers to help with registration, raffle, and set-up.
OUR MISSION:
We are empowering young people to own their economic success. Our volunteer-based K-12 programs foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire kids to dream big and reach their potential.
OUR PROGRAMS:
ELEMENTARY PROGRAMMING
JA’s elementary school programs are the foundation of its K-12 curricula. Six sequential themes, each with five hands-on activities, work to change students’ lives by helping them understand business and economics.
MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAMMING
The middle grade programs build on concepts the students learned in Junior Achievement’s elementary school program and help teens make difficult decisions about how to best prepare for their educational and professional future. These programs supplement standard social studies curricula and develop communication skills that are essential to success in the world.
HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMMING
As high school students begin to position themselves for their future, there are many unanswered questions about what lies ahead. Junior Achievement’s high school programs help students make informed, intelligent decisions about their future, and foster skills that will be highly useful in the work force and world.

We formed this organization during the pandemic. We work with over 30 nonprofits around South Lake County, and we provide clothing, toys and books for kids ages 0-18. We have the nonprofits register their families through our website, and we put all of our monies together to be able to help more families through out SL. Last year we gave Christmas gifts to over 2800 children, and fed 1500 families. This year we are hoping to do more, and then have the nonprofits host their events to give these gifts out to the families so they have something to open on Christmas morning. We have lots of volunteer activities at our "Santa Shack." We need volunteers to "shop" put bikes together, sort and clean up the warehouse. We invite all ages to come out and participate!Available Shifts

Locally-led non-profits and the communities involved have the expertise and knowledge to tackle the social injustices in their local setting. These NGOs are the first to respond, last to leave, and are responsible for 70% of all impact in development cooperation. However, they directly receive only 2% of the total global aid budget.Imagine how much impact can be made, if locally-led NGOs would receive more than this marginal 2%! That is exactly our ambition!
Help us to promote iMPACT direct or one of the projects in your network in Kenya or abroad: https://impactdirect.eu/project/
We have brochures, website, socials, mailings present.
Let's brainstorm on what works best. For example, invite people to a presentation of one of our NGOs. Or sending a mailing around. Or you may have this other great promotion idea, that we can support, to jointly support the locally-led NGOs we are working for.
In turn, they work for people living below the poverty line in their communities, offering local sustainable solutions on income, food security & climate, and education. Currently we have reached 10,000 people in 5 African countries. In 2023, we aim to reach out to 15,000 people.
