Are you Looking to make a big impact? Join us! We are looking for enthusiastic, personable and experienced individuals to join us as Campaign cabinet chair. In this position you can expect to speak to the public ad you garner support for our Annual workplace fundraising Campaign. United Way Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District lead an annual campaign aimed at local poverty reduction by focusing on food security , workforce entry and essential services. The goal of our Campaign is to raise funds to distribute them to various local organizations through grants, scholarships and other financial aids.

As a campaign cabinet chair, you will be approaching local businesses/professionals and telling them about our organization/ fundraising initiative.
We are inviting local businesses to support our campaign through :
1. Employee pledges
2. Corporate donations
3. Special events to collect funds.
4. In-kind donations

Responsibilities of a Campaign chair:
Work collaboratively with the Fundraising Department in strategizing a plan for your respective division.
Prepare for canvassing through Orientation and Training giving you the opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of United Way’s mission, vision and programs we support.
Approach businesses, outlining the ways in which they can contribute to our campaign, and request support for United Way.
Learn to answer questions about the campaign, organization, and any other inquires while canvassing.
Report back to the team about businesses approached, support secured, and other relevant information in monthly meeting.

Orientations will take place on a one-on-one basis to ensure that volunteers are prepared to do outreach! This year, more than ever, the communities we serve need our support. Help us connect with our local community to raise awareness about our mission and make poverty an #UNIGNORABLE issue.

Over the last 10 years, Gilliams Community Garden has brought sustainable agriculture education and food donations to over 90,000 Fulton County residents. Gilliams Community Garden programs empower people of all ages, income levels, and abilities by reconnecting them with their local food systems and teaching gardening, cooking, and nutrition education. Over 10,000 pounds of produce, as well as 5,000 plant starts and seeds, are donated to low-income community members to impart greater food security and hunger relief in our community.

Due to COVID-19 precautions, Gilliams Community
Garden is seeking consistent volunteers this summer, who are available to work between 3-8 hours each week from May- August 31. Time off for vacation is just fine. All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
This will be a great learning experience as you’ll be working alongside our experienced growers in the field. Donating your time this summer will help Gilliams Community Garden operate our CSA as well as grow over 13,000 pounds of produce for those in need. We’ll be following strict disinfecting procedures as well as asking staff and volunteers to wear masks.

Akilokony community based organization is a non-profit, in the fundraising phase of supporting women empowerment project in Turkana, kenya.

Our goals include assisting the Vulnerable women to improve their livelihoods through Training them on sewing and bead making .Our team will specialize in Training and mentoring women.

Job Summary

Raise funds for our cause and regularly meet or surpass fundraising targets.
Research potential donors to gain insight into needs, beliefs and donation habits to understand how to position our organization to them.
Assist in brainstorming and creating new methods to raise funds for our organization
Leverage technology and social media where possible to improve fundraising activities
Assist in planning and coordinating events meant to raise funds and coordinate activities of volunteers and interns related to event planning and execution
Create marketing materials, like flyers and brochures, to be used for the promotion of events and other fundraising pushes
Analyze the performance of events and other fundraising activities for effectiveness and to identify areas where money can be saved
Maintain complete and orderly records of donors and manage regular donor communications
Build upon existing donor relationships and form new donor relationships on a regular basis
Collaborate with other organizations and groups within the community to build partnerships and enhance fundraising activities
Building Relationships and Networks - connecting across the organization to develop a deep understanding of different needs to help define and answer critical business questions.

Team Initiatives - support various internal team efforts including technology adoption, learning and development, and social events.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Minimum two years of fundraising experience.
