Share your expertise by designing and delivering a one hour virtual workshop on a career oriented soft skill for participants in our youth employment programs. Contact us to suggest a topic. Examples of previous workshops include: using LinkedIn effectively, emotional intelligence, effective team meetings, critical thinking, Agile project management, public speaking, dealing with conflict. Participants are particularly interested in accessing jobs related to IT Technician, ICT, communications, Health Sciences and Federal government so workshops relevant to accessing those fields would be welcomed as well.

NPower Canada provides job seekers with no-cost technical and professional skills training, job placement services and 5 years of post-hire support.More than 80% of NPower Canada graduates secure employment and/or enroll in postsecondary education within 12 months of program completion.
Role Description: NPower Canada invites corporate volunteers to log in to its virtual classes and engage youth and adult job seekers in discussions about tech-related and career development topics.
Volunteers have facilitated lively and enriching discussions with participants on tech topics like app development and cybersecurity, and professional development topics like networking or interviewing.
NPower Canada staff will consult with you about the topics about which you would feel most comfortable and confident speaking, and help you plan a 45 - 60 minute session with an upcoming virtual class. These classes are delivered year-round, so timelines are very flexible.
NPower Canada staff will introduce volunteers to participants, support with activities as needed and facilitate a brief thank-you / wrap-up session to obtain feedback.

The closure of schools that began in the spring has served to only widen the educational gap between economically disadvantaged students and others. With school closures taking place for the foreseeable future it is imperative that we give economically disadvantaged students the attention they need to not fall behind.Pandemicprofessors.org, a 501c3 organization, was founded in April by Berkeley alumni to achieve the mission of facilitating free online tutoring to low-income communities affected by the pandemic. It is a 100% volunteer-based organization. Our philosophy not only supports academic achievements, but also emphasizes the importance of socio-emotional health in these isolating times.
We currently serve over 115 underserved students with the help of 150 dedicated volunteer staff and tutors. With the significant demand that we are seeing, we want to be able to serve more families and communities in need. We need your help!
With the huge influx of students, we are asking people to volunteer with us.
Becoming a Remote Volunteer Staff/Consultant:
As a volunteer staff or consultant, you will help the organization run smoothly and deliver the best services possible to students in need. We are looking to expand our capacities and optimize our services using data-driven decision making and human-centered design. Your position will depend upon your personal goals and skills.
Specific professional background or interests include:
