This Twitter for Good Day activity with JA Worldwide is part of a larger global challenge JA is doing with dentsu this fall. We expect 75 alumni to sign up to work on a digital marketing and sustainability challenge to fight food waste:JA is reducing the social advocacy element in this challenge and bring forth an entrepreneurial mix into the program by positioning the challenge as an innovation outlet in food waste for our alumni. We want youth to implement actionable steps to curb food waste and create an impactful conversation using the power of social media.
Alumni will sign up to take part in the challenge with an Oct 8 sign-up deadline. The week of 11-15 October, dentsu will do intro activities for them and they will then start working on their ideas/solutions to be presented to judges.
On Friday the 15th for Twitter for Good Day, we plan to have the Tweeps do virtual 1 on 1 mentoring sessions with the alumni that can be some general career mentoring, but also focused on helping them think about their solutions to the challenge, presented with an emphasis on digital marketing on Twitter.
It will be organized as a 90-minute session that includes a 30-min introduction with Twitter, dentsu and JA reps talking about sustainability and the challenge, and then the JA Alumni would be split out into breakout rooms with their Tweep mentees to do the 60-minute 1-1 mentoring sessions.

The program was established to help low-achieving adolescents improve their academic and personal achievements. To realize this goal we use various enrichment tools such as experiential and diverse social activities, and provide supervision and assistance in homework preparation and other academic tasks. Through these challenging activities, the adolescent experiences personal as well as social success. The centers operates five days a week in an atmosphere of a warm home, a home that provides love, support and supervision, security and a structured framework, and maintains proper rules of conduct.
The program is a "complementary" framework aimed at developing and improving the adolescent's abilities parallel to the main frameworks in his life - family and school. The Centers focuses on deepening the family's and school's involvement and participation in the youth's success and achievements, since these connections contribute significantly to his personal strengthening.
The adolescent's success depends on the nature and frequency of the relationship between various frameworks in his life. This relationship is maintained on a regular basis by continuous communication with the parents, home visits, feedback, and cooperation with the professional and educational staff in the schools.
Target Population – Youth at Risk
The term "youth at risk" refers to a variety of youth all of whom are characterized by an element of risk, to themselves or to their environment, at present or in the future. One of the main risks faced by this population is dropping out and detachment from formal educational frameworks, resulting from social or domestic distress, difficulties in learning and perseverance, and more.
Goals and Success Benchmarks
We have set goals and objectives, which are measured by specific benchmarks for success.
Goals:
• Closing academic gaps and prevention of drop out
• Prevention of vagrancy and expansion of leisure activities
• Strengthening of personal resources and developing personal and intrapersonal skills
• Increasing social and community involvement
• Developing a generation of productive young adults who contribute to the community and to Israeli society
Benchmarks
• Improvement in academic achievement
• Prevention of drop out of formal educational systems
• Improvement of self–esteem, self-confidence and self-efficacy
• Strengthening of social skills
• Some of the graduates of the program return to the center as assistants, either through the "self-commitment" project or as volunteers, and then they join the army.
The Benchmarks are measured through feedback, questionnaires, and personal interviews with the boys, their educators and parents, at the beginning, middle and end of the school year.
Staff
The team coordinators employed by the Challenge Centers hold a bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology etc., and work for at least 80% positions at the centers. This enables them to meet the youth throughout his daily activities, including school attendance, class performance and learning, activities in the center, and meaningful acquaintance with the family.
Activities at the Center
Participants are 5th to 11th grade boys and girls from various schools in the city of Herzliya. The centers operate four to five days a week, on Sunday-Thursday, between12.00-18.00. The boys or girls, in two separate centers of "Derech Hagalim Center" arrive at the centers directly from school, eat lunch, and start their homework/workbook preparation around 14.00. They are supervised by students and volunteers and are then divided to different activities:
• Extreme Sports.
• Marine Sports
• Studies and academic activities
• Social- and values- related activities
The girls' center was established 3 years ago under the same roof of "Derech Hagalim center" yet for girls. The needs of the girls' center _as it makes its first years, is extreme. We look for money donations and volunteers hours' to assist the girls, mainly in both subjects: English language and Mathematics.

In this opportunity, you can choose to engage in one or several of the following tasks.Improve Save the Children Sweden’s YouTube Channel
To some extent, we use our YouTube channel as a storage place for material. We would love your support in coming up with ideas on how we can restructure the channel and work with it more effectively to increase the number of views and followers.
Estimated time required by each employee taking on this opportunity: 1-3 hours per employee, depending on your capacity and willingness to engage.
No limitation of numbers of engaging employees.
Improve YouTube channel for supporting Save the Children's grassroots movement
Save The Children Sweden has a national program with many different initiatives and concrete activities for children. A lot of this work is carried out by our grassroots movement, through local Save the Children associations around the country.
In the Skåne county alone, there are thirteen local Save the Children associations organized and run by volunteers.
Save the Children's Operations Development Officers offer technical, administrative and operative support to the local associations.
As part of our support to the local Save the Children associations, we have created a YouTube Channel called “Fråga din VU” ("Ask your Operations Development Officer").
This is a series of short YouTube clips where we answer questions that are important for the volunteers to have knowledge on.
We would like to get support in taking “Fråga din VU” to a next level in terms of editing tools, production but also in terms of engagement and promotion of all episodes.
This could be done through an initial workshop, when we explain our needs, followed by internal work on your end to come up with suggestions for improvements, and then in the end have a final workshop when you share your thoughts and ideas.
Fundraising on YouTube
We are interested in learning about how to best use YouTube as a channel to raise money for Save the Children Sweden.
A workshop together with you to learn if there's a specific tool, ad space or anything that other fundraising organizations use with great success, or share any other related advice would be greatly appreciated!
Improving Livestreaming on YouTube
We do live broadcasts on YouTube from our studio at Save the Children’s head quarter in Stockholm.
It could, for example, be one of Save the Children´s report releases on a specific topic that is important to spread.
We would love your support with tips and ideas on how we can become even better, get more viewers, increase the spread and commitment to the broadcast. Both before, during and after the live streaming event.
Estimated time required by each employee taking on this opportunity: 1-3 hours per employee, depending on your capacity and willingness to engage.
No limitation of numbers of engaging employees.
The suggested date and time for this opportunity will begin with a brief online meeting when you will get an introduction to the needs, followed by a session when you brainstorm together or on your own to help us come up with ideas to improve. In case you are not able to join the session that specific time, you are welcome to send us your thoughts separately.

The second wave of COVID 19 has hit Kerala badly and the state is heading an explosion in COVID-19 cases. Experts say that the state has to pay a high price for relaxing COVID vigil during the recent assembly election campaign. The Election campaigns, road shows, increased number of participation in ceremonies & celebrations, people became very relaxed and started moving out without following the protocols are the major cause of the fast spread of the Infections. Now the Pandemic situation in Kerala state is perilous. The second wave Covid-19 started on 14th April. Active COVID-19 cases had registered a 255% increase in the last 14 days. The infection graph continues to climb. Exotic and mutant strains of the virus have spawned new cases. The virus threatened to overwhelm the State’s finite health resources. The rising tide of infection can cause the COVID-19 death rate to spike. The situation in Kerala is alarming with the total number of COVID -19 cases confirmed 14,60,365 among them 2,66,646 cases are in inactive state. Per day more than 35000 new cases are reporting and the total death is 5211. To prevent the massive spread. State government has declared partial lockdowns and containment zones. The massive community spread and a sharp rise in cases have created an unprecedented situation, with many COVID-19 care hospitals being jam-packed and failing to accommodate new cases. The state has a “frightening inadequacy” of Intensive Care Units (ICU) and ventilator support facilities. In the second wave the virus is spread in the lungs and the main symptom of COVID-19 is breathlessness. Majority of the COVID affected cases need oxygen support for breathing. So the hospitals are facing scarcity of oxygen cylinders. The government started vaccination for Elders and people above 45 years of age. But due to scarcity of vaccine, only 22.2% of the targeted population was covered. The people in the community have not completely recovered the socio-economic equilibrium of the families in the first wave of COVID 19 and the second wave has created more challenges. The majority of the people have lost their jobs in unorganized & organized sectors. This resulted in a miserable condition in the life of marginalized sections of elders, women especially the lactating and pregnant women, children, persons with disabilities, migrants, destitute, and other marginalized groups. In this grave situation, we need to address the health emergency needs of the marginalized people and strengthen the existing health system to overcome the difficulties in the treatment of covid-19 affected people and reduce the death rate. The following are the emergency needs to save the life of people in Kerala state.
Emergency needs to address:-
• Supply of Oxygen Cylinders in the Hospitals.
• Help Desk service.
• Ambulance service.
• Distribution of Steam inhalers.
• Distribution of Oxy pulse meters.
• PPE kits for health workers.
• Vehicle for Awareness Campaign.
• Food kits for quarantine and COVID affected marginalized Families.
• Hygiene kits (Mask, Hand wash and Sanitizer) for quarantine andCOVID affected marginalized Families
To find out the fund for the above purpose we need fund raisers> The goal amount is $91,560
