- Provide **survival swim scholarships** to low-income families.
- Expand water safety education in schools, communities, and online.
- Offer CPR training to parents and caregivers, equipping them with life-saving skills.
- Support families affected by drowning incidents with **bereavement and emotional resources.
Without the success of this gala, we would not be able to provide these essential services or reach the thousands of children and families who depend on our mission. By volunteering, you become a vital part of this life-saving effort and help us continue to make a difference in our community.
Join Us in Creating Ripples of Hope:

Each year, over 160 Rainier Scholars attend colleges and universities all over the country. Volunteering to purchase and build care packages is a tangible way to support a scholar on the pathway to college graduation. Our goal is for each student to receive a care package from home, whether they are attending a local school or living across the country. We are seeking local companies to prepare packages that we will send out in November. This is a great TEAM-BUILDING activity, and it can be done at YOUR OFFICE! Companies can create packages for 5-10 scholars. We provide you with a suggested packing list and bios of your scholars; you purchase the items and assemble them with your team. Contents don't have to be expensive to be meaningful but we do ask that they are personalized. Each package is around $50-$75 worth of items (including a $25-$50 gift card).
When packages are completed, you will drop them off at the Rainier Scholars office. Must confirm participation with care package manager and will be given detailed instructions on care package contents, packing, and drop-off.
Contact care package manager, Crysta Maniscalco, at cmaniscalco@rainierscholars.org or 206-838-6678.

Non-profits rely heavily on the financial help of grants, but sometimes grants come with conditions on how to spend the money. For IRC, this means that essential resettlement needs for refugees may suffer from lack of funding even if IRC has won a significant grant. Individuals can help raise unrestricted funds—funds with no conditions—by rallying folks behind the goal of raising money for IRC. If you are a runner, ask friends to sponsor you in your next race. If you like to cook, invite friends for a meal and share with them your personalized fundraising page directing donations straight to IRC. There are many possibilities, and we welcome new ideas. IRC will provide simple training for use of the fundraising platform plus talking points on how to raise awareness of IRC’s local impact and mission in Seattle, WA.
