Our group volunteer activity focuses on helping refugees secure stable employment by assisting them with filling out job applications. Volunteers will review resumes provided by the refugees, locate entry-level positions that match the refugees’ skills, and fill out the job application on behalf of the refugees.

This initiative is vital as it supports refugees who may have limited or no English proficiency in achieving financial stability and integrating into their new communities. By facilitating their access to employment opportunities, we help them build a foundation for a successful new life in the U.S. This activity also aligns with our organization’s goal of providing tangible and long-lasting support to those in need. Your involvement can directly impact the refugees' ability to start anew with confidence and stability.

Participants: This is a non-facilitated project that can be done by an individual or group (no min/max participants).

Location: This is a remote project. Each participant will use their computer/tablet to complete the activity.

Facilitation: This is a non-facilitated project, meaning each volunteer will lead (with guidance from IRC).

Duration: The volunteer opportunity takes place within 30-120+ minutes.

Geographic Reach: Spokane IRC is one of two IRC offices in Washington state that works to support refugees, asylum seekers, and other vulnerable migrants. IRC is headquartered in New York and has offices in 29 US cities and over 40 countries.
