Community Action Agency of St. Louis County is back at it again with one of our top-notch employment and resource fairs!

We have been missing our Kohl's volunteers and are eager to have you all help us out to bring jobs and much needed services to our neighbors and fellow community members!

The job fair last year had over 1,300 applicants in attendance so we are hoping at least five of Kohl's staff would be willing to come out, have a good time, interact with the community and give back!

Consider St. Louis County and the conditions of poverty all around us when choosing where to dedicate your time, CAASTLC needs you and knows how to appreciate our valued volunteers!

The Pinnacle Awards & Scholarship Gala is our annual signature event to designed to recognize philanthropic leaders who are at the height of their careers and students who excel. This event is so important because many local professionals and leaders give their time to charitable causes and do not get recognized or rewarded...and we take the time to recognize them. Additionally, we believe that children are our future leaders, so we invest in their education by giving them college scholarships. We give scholarships to students who want to major in STEM, medicine, education or culinary arts.

Rock Island Economic Growth Corporation hosts in conjunction with the Development Association of Rock Island, a golf outing to raise money to support community initiatives. Last year, the profit from the outing went to support a job fair and an entrepreneurial program for start-up businesses. This golf outing needs volunteers to help on the course.

This is a community event in order to showcase all the wonderful local tap's and tastes this community has to offer! Volunteers will aid in event set up, event assistance, admissions and much more. We are looking for volunteers to hand out bottles of water to our 5K participants as they cross the finish line. Our Duck-N-Run 5K will take place on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Tawawa Park in Sidney, Ohio. The 5K race starts at 8:15pm, and runners will cross the finish line shortly after that. Please arrive at 7pm.

The Gift of Adoption Fund seeks to fill the void that separates child from family through adoption completion grants, giving vulnerable children a permanent home and the chance to thrive.

Gift of Adoption is a national 501(c)(3) that provides the final funds that prospective adoptive parents need to complete the adoptions of vulnerable children from within the U.S. and from around the world.

Networking and fundraising are the primary responsibilities of board members.
To fundraise, we organize fun social events, online campaigns and more. The board currently consists of professionals who volunteer their time and connections to further the cause. You can live anywhere in the state but are expected to participate in monthly calls and, ideally, quarterly in-person meetings. 100% of the money we raise goes directly to completing families' adoptions in your state.

We are a team of smart, dedicated (and, we like to think, fun!) people who believe that a loving family is a basic human right.

We are looking for Board Members who:
- Are passionate about volunteering to help children.
- Have creative fundraising ideas and the motivation and social network to make them happen!
- Are connected to and/or interested in outreach to the local business community.
- Enjoy connecting people and finding partnership opportunities.
- Are comfortable reaching out to their network of family and friends about a good cause.
- Have strong communication skills, and are highly organized.
- Want a volunteer opportunity that makes a permanent difference!

We expect that you will:
- Help plan and attend fundraising events.
- Work with the other board members to collectively raise money to fund adoptions.
- Participate in one board call a month.
- Attend a quarterly in-person meeting.

In our Nebraska/Iowa region, we ask board members to make a personal gift and hit a fundraising goal each year that they serve.
