Opportunity Details

We often struggle to run our programs and raise funds from international donors. Many staff members are volunteers and receive no or a minimal salary. We urgently need support from our volunteers to work in funds-raising, proposal writing, organizational development, IT, administration, community development, reports, and case studies. It is also an excellent opportunity to meet people from around the world who constantly visit us and exchange experiences.

Your experience volunteering with us will not only allow you to impact the world positively, but you will also have the opportunity to become fully immersed in Kenyan culture. Currently, we have projects ongoing in Nairobi, as well as in both the Kibera and Mathare Slums, the counties of Kisii, Samburu, and Migori, etc.

Take time away from your private practices or school to pay your way to Kenya and help us teach our locals at our vocational centers and schools in our communities. At the same time, you will offer massage services to vulnerable patients at our local clinics and home-based patients in the marginalized communities we serve in Kenya. Our beauty and Hairdressing college students will also have an opportunity to learn from professional massage therapists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists from you to add value to their careers. Caregivers and parents will also have sessions with you to learn how to do the massage by themselves to their children and themselves. These programs need Volunteers that are good and passionate about cooking and baking to cook for our kids in school. Our kids love delicious food cooked by our volunteers. We also have cooking and baking clubs for kids, Baking clubs in Schools and Universities. This allows our marginalized students and women as one of their life skills. Some of the areas we train them to include are as follows;
- Making ( Cake, Bread, soups, Cheese Pastry, Ice cream, Creaming methods, sponge cake, etc.)
- General food hygiene
- Food allergies, visible and non-visible symptoms
- Vegetable cuts
- Importance of nutrition when planning meals (Protein, Fat, Carbohydrates, Vitamins, Minerals, Dietary fiber, Water, etc.)
- Planning meals for children and adult
- Cooking techniques
- Menu planning
- Vegetarian or Vega dishes

There are many opportunities for us to put love and compassion into our communities through the career we love. We are looking for volunteers to teach our girl's nail art and beauty. Even a basic manicure to clean up the shape, Pedicures, Painting, Fuling, Gel, Acrylic, Nail art techniques, and cuticle work are some areas you can help with. We also do for the homeless, children’s homes, retirement homes, nursing homes, and house-to-house visits to make them happy and loved. You can even pass out mini oils and a nail file to teen mums while delivering basic education on nail care and finding a safe salon. There is no force equal to a woman who Is determined to rise. Who We Are
The CARDBoard Project is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization whose main objective is to bridge the digital gap within the underserved communities of South Dallas. For many, access to technology is greatly limited. This limitation actively hinders education, healthcare, and overall economic growth within underserved communities affected by digital division. CARDBoard Project aims to address this pertinent issue on many levels. Between providing access to essential technology, active community projects aimed to eradicate “digital deserts”, working with individuals 1:1 to connect our guests to empowering opportunities and resources, we consistently progress our cause.

Who We’re Seeking 

We are looking for an experienced, passionate, and innovative Digital Communications Team Director. As a Digital Communications Director you will be responsible for developing and implementing our social media strategy in order to increase our online presence and share our program progress/milestones to further expand our impact in the communities we serve. Regarding an expected time commitment, we aim to work with your current schedule but do require you be able to meet with the our Executive Director twice a week at minimum during the initial weeks of volunteering to ensure proper set-up and training is provided to fulfill the required tasks.

• Plan & implement social media content calendar/strategy.
• Create & upload content across our social media platforms.
