VITA provides free tax preparation to qualified individuals and families in Northern Virginia. WEBS Training Center is recruiting volunteers to provide tax preparation, online tax coaching, social media outreach, and IT support, as well as greeters, screeners, and language interpreters, including ASL. No experience necessary; free training is provided. Volunteer training begins in December and volunteers are needed through mid-April.

Please note that WEBS Training Center will continue to consult with the IRS Stakeholder Partnerships, Education and Communication (SPEC) Officers and monitor state, local, and national guidelines when administering the VITA and TCE programs for Tax Year 2024. The safety of our staff, volunteers, and the community is our top priority and may impact volunteer participation or responsibilities.

On Saturday, February 8, 2025, PDDBM will host its annual Black History Month Fashion Show from 9 AM to 6 PM. This event celebrates the contributions of African Americans to the U.S. fashion industry since the 1860s and highlights young, emerging designers from PDDBM’s Fashion Design Afterschool Program. 10 Middle and high school students will showcase their work for the first time, demonstrating their creativity, talent, and dedication.

These young designers bring fresh perspectives and unique designs, which will be available for purchase immediately following the show. Additional highlights include a West African Tribal Hairstyle Exhibit, a Silent Auction, a Mini African American Fashion Designer Museum, and an authentic West African plated meal.

On each board, they list out every single item the model will wear for the look, specific styling instructions, and any additional notes. These mini boards are placed strategically on racks with their corresponding looks backstage for dressers to reference when dressing their model.

Our organization is growing and we need enthusiastic individuals like you to join our board! Our work is exciting as we develop healthcare education programs and take them into rural poor villages in Uganda and teach. We work also with multiple universities in the USA in conducting research studies and product development. Our board meets approximately 6 times a year; meetings are virtual and held on Zoom at 6:00PM PST on those days when we meet. Join ENGin as a conversation partner! This is a flexible and unique opportunity to make a direct impact on someone’s life while discovering a new culture and meeting a new friend.

We’ll pair you up with a buddy in Ukraine for weekly videochats at times that are convenient for you. During your conversations, you’ll practice English with your partner, learn about each other’s cultures, and offer an empathetic, authentic space for connection.

No teaching experience or knowledge of Ukrainian is required to volunteer with us. All of our participants can understand and hold a basic conversation in English. We offer ample training resources, session materials and total flexibility to customize your sessions to fit your/your partner’s goals and preferences. You’ll also have access to online communities to share ideas and ask questions.

Our only requirements for volunteers are English fluency, a strong internet connection, and the ability to commit to one hour a week for a minimum of 10-12 weeks.

4)Genuine desire to break the cycle

Individuals convicted of cybercrimes and sexual offences are ineligible.
