The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing overall administrative support to the Founder of Advance Social Innovation. He/She will maintain various secretarial duties with minimal supervision and assist the Founder of ASI with organizing and managing the daily workload. This pivotal role requires the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines. He/She will play a pivotal role in the growth of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain calendar by planning and scheduling meetings, teleconferences, and special events
Communicate calendar changes to those affected in a timely manner
Create correspondence on behalf of the Founder of ASI with minimal direction
Assist with projects that require analysis, organization, & research
When directed by the founder, follow up with status of internal teams and projects of ASI
Other duties as assigned

Our ideal candidate:

Minimum commitment of 10 hours per week for 3 - 6 months
Must be located in the US/Canada
2-5 years of experience with providing executive level administrative support
Strong communication and writing skills
Self–motivated, works independently, able to collaborate as part of a team to achieve business goals, and able to multi–task independently in a fast–paced environment
Experience with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Ability to proofread documents and memos for grammar and punctuation with a high level of accuracy
Handle tasks in a professional manner and be proactive in anticipating administrative needs

Small Business Coaches/Mentors assist clients with their expertise as they launch or expand their small business. They work with clients on-on-one and guide them to achieve Specific Measurable Attainable Realistic and Timely (SMART) goals. They offer a wide range of expertise and knowledge that benefits the client and helps them to be successful entrepreneurs.

Required Skills & Experience:
 Demonstrated strength or professional expertise in e.g. personal finance, accounting, marketing, IT or general entrepreneurial experience etc.
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
 Knowledge of local community resources for entrepreneurs.
 Flexibility.
 Patience and good listening skills.

Expected Commitment:
Coaching partnerships range from 3 to 6 months depending on client needs. Small Business Coaches/Mentors are expected to meet or consult with clients on an agreed upon schedule and provide feedback to ACCESS.

Opportunity Details

The role of the Loan Officer is to review, interview and evaluate potential loan applicants and make a recommendation to the Loan Review Committee for a decision. Loan Officers make up the Loan Review Committee and meet to make decisions on loan applications for both our small business and professional development loans.

Required Skills & Experience:
 Entrepreneurial experience or knowledge of start-ups, private businesses or experience with education, career development.
 Professional experience in financial analysis, management, law or marketing etc.
 Community involvement or experience working with marginalized or low-income communities.
 Understanding of business plans and cash flows.
 Excellent written and oral communication skills.
 Passion to help others.
 Second language an asset.

Expected Commitment:
The Loan Review Committee at meets at least once a month. Members are expected to review applications, conduct applicant interviews and meet as a committee to make decisions on loan applications.

Project ECHO's High School Entrepreneurs' Business Plan Competition simulates the real-world process of entrepreneurs soliciting start-up funds from investors. More than 300 teens will participate in this annual start-up competition and executive level Judges are needed to help evaluate their team business presentations.

Judges will act as venture capital investors deciding on which business they'd most likely fund. The quality of the idea, the strength of the management team, and the clarity and persuasiveness of the oral presentation are the criteria that determine each judge's decision. Each panel of judges will evaluate 7-10 business teams, which means listening to a formal 10-minute presentation, participating in a Q&A with the team, and then scoring each team accordingly on ECHO's cloud-based system.

The 2025 competition will be hosted at CSU, Dominguez Hills in Los Angeles with some teams pitching virtually on Zoom.

Requirements to be considered as a Judge: You must be able to serve in person. In addition, ECHO recruits a diversified pool of executives from various industries to serve as judges. Interested volunteers must have at least 10 years of professional work experience and have served in leadership roles accountable for managing teams of employees. Judges should be compassionate individuals who are innately interested in supporting the personal and career aspirations of young adults who are preparing to graduate from high school and are focused on discovering their career goals. Spark makes it easy for mentors by bringing students directly to the companies and providing all necessary support.

How to get involved:
7th graders from Ace Charter School in San Jose and their mentors will meet once a week for 8 weeks at PayPal (Thursdays, 230-430pm, September 28th to December 7th).
