Use your experience in the tech industry to mentor someone who's been in prison and trying to launch their career!

Unloop runs a mentorship program for students in prison who will be releasing soon and are planning for careers and life outside after our one-year coding program, and for formerly incarcerated people who are teaching themselves to code.

Mentor positions are for professional developers who are looking to make a minimum of a 3-month commitment. You will decide on a schedule with your mentee, but will have check-ins in person or by call every other week, and by email regularly. This role will consist of answering questions about the tech industry, helping your mentee develop their portfolio and resume, setting a schedule for continued coding education, and being a stable and supportive presence for someone looking to enter the tech industry after incarceration.

This is an awesome way to volunteer in a one-on-one setting, put your industry experience to use for social good, and have an amazing impact on someone's life!

With your support, LifeTime Projects helps 30 women, aged from 16 to 60 years old, make their dream come true: to launch their own business. This project aims to bring them the knowledge and skills required to gain their independence.

Most of these women have never had the opportunity to finish primary school and therefore work informally (selling fruits on the roadsides, domestic chores etc.…). In order to leave poverty in their past and take their future in hand, they wish to start their own companies.

We are working with the association “Women of Atta” in order to organise and develop business development workshops, as well as a personalised follow-up for each lady’s project.
The goal of the mission: we wish to help these women improve their living conditions and regain their autonomy by setting up their own successful businesses. Thanks to a better income and a new independence, these women will also be able to look after the well-being and education of their daughters, who are also too frequently exposed to forced marriages and premature pregnancies.

Required Skills:
Volunteers taking part in this project should have knowledge in business development, accounting, communication, marketing. You will need to be patient and able to adapt your level of knowledge to that of sometimes illiterate women.

Come join us as a innovator coach!

Social Venture Partners (SVP) Fast Pitch highlights and propels social innovation in the Puget Sound Region and beyond. Innovators tackling societal challenges are paired with business and community leaders who help them accelerate their impact. Each year, 56 innovators compete in one of five tracks: startup nonprofit, established nonprofit, for-profit, high school, and university.

Throughout the four-month program, innovators hone their ideas and improve their pitches via clinics and coaching from professionals. In the past 6 years, SVP Fast Pitch provided 15,000+ hours of coaching and $1M+ in grants and pro-bono services to 300+ social impact organizations tackling poverty, homelessness, inequity in education, prisoner recidivism, climate change, and other huge challenges.

Coaches help their assigned innovator develop and deliver a 5-minute pitch which inspires listeners to learn more about how they can help the organization pursue its mission and goals. Expertise we look for: general business/startup skills, non-profit/for profit consulting, mission/vision definition, presentation skills. Coaches are assigned to innovators in mid-July, and generally volunteer for 20-40 hours (dependent on how far innovator progresses in program). These hours can be flexible and agreed up on with your innovator directly.

Our program is fueled by our amazing volunteer community and we would love to have you join the team!

Take 5! That's all it takes to make a difference in the life of a child. 5 visits / 5 hours. You pick the grade, you set the schedule. Volunteers serve as invaluable role models, helping students understand the important role that education plays in their future success. Either one day a week on consecutive weeks, on consecutive days, or all in one day.

Getting up in front of a classroom full of students can sound intimidating, but time after time volunteers report back that they were surprised by just how much fun they had! And there’s no comparison to the feeling that you’ve made a genuine impact on the lives of students.
