Volunteers Needs: All Ages Welcome!!

Set Up: Tuesday Dec 3rd and Wednesday Dec 4th: Anytime between 10am-10pm
Thursday Dec 5th : Anytime between 8am-4pm
Details: These are the most important days where we need as much help as possible! When you arrive go to the Clock on South side of Plaza. On the attached map shows it as Santa. There will be a table there with different tasks you can choose from. Some will have photos to help . All skill sets can help and will receive a volunteer sweatshirt or t-shirt. Some areas require tools such as cordless drills, bits, ladder and gloves. They are marked with *
Tasks to choose from: Hang Garland or lights on fences and rails
Put batteries in lights
Put up banners and signs
Set up different small or large displays with decorations, inflatables , trees, snow blankets , etc
Screw in 4'x8' flats as shown in the Santa photos. These types are used as back drops for about 10 different displays*
Put up giant TeePee and decorate *
Build and set up live Nativity scenes barn *



During Event : Thursday Dec 5th and Friday Dec 6th: 4pm-6pm or 7:30-9pm
Saturday Dec 7th: 11am-12:30 or 3pm-5pm or 7pm-9pm
Details: In addition to the below we can always use help monitoring lights and inflatables, giving breaks to vendors. checking garbage isn't getting too full and picking up any trash laying around.
Tasks to Choose from: Train Conductor - Must be safe over 16 and personable with guests. We do have a microphone we would like the train conductor
to use for announcing some displays or vendors as they drive past. A basic script and hat will be provided.
Train Attendees- We need 2-3 people to help open and close doors from all passengers on the train.


Tear Down: Sunday December 8th Anytime between 9am-5pm. We need about 50 people.
Details: Well, what goes up must come down! Pizza party to follow!
Needs: We can always use storage totes or tree bags! Any size!

We are seeking professionals who can help our early to mid career professionals put their networking skills into practice. We'll host you at virtual tables in timed rounds, providing our learners with the opportunity to ask questions in a conversational format without the pressure of a 1:1 interaction.

During this interactive session focused on helping attendees refine their introductions and elevator pitches, participants will visit virtual tables in timed rounds. There they’ll have the opportunity to practice introducing themselves, sharing their career goals, and articulating their value in a conversational format. As a subject matter expert, you’ll provide constructive feedback, tips on making a strong first impression, and insights on how effective communication can open doors in professional settings.

We are seeking volunteers from a variety of roles who can speak some or all of the following:

- General insight into your experience and career trajectory
- Navigating the job search, preparing for interviews, and highlighting your skills
- How AI tools are becoming incorporated into your life, both personally and in your role or organization
- How technology and technical skills or tools are used by yourself or others in your organization or team to complete a variety of tasks—even when a role may not be strictly technical!
- Conversations you may be having that relate to AI privacy, safety and ethics—how are these considerations contributing to your use of AI tools and technologies?

NFTE’s World Series of Innovation (WSI) is a global educational experience that invites young people ages 5-24 to get involved in solving the biggest challenges facing humanity today and help advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

NFTE is pleased to offer challenge partners and other volunteers in the NFTE community the opportunity to participate at this level of the World Series of Innovation. Volunteers are invited to judge student submissions and determine the top solutions for the challenge. This is an asynchronous volunteer opportunity.

Judges are tasked with reviewing the submissions and providing evaluations based on the NFTE WSI rubric. Each submission will be evaluated by multiple judges to ensure parity and all scores will be averaged to establish the ranking of entries and determine the top ten finalists.

Mid-program, student teams participate in our Idea Review events where they are able to meet with volunteers and share their top invention ideas. As a volunteer, you will hear more about their ideas and provide feedback so that they can move forward to the prototyping phase of their project!
