Hacktech is Caltech's premier interdisciplinary hackathon: for 36 hours, 500 awesome student hackers will combine computer science with engineering and science to build the most innovative and interdisciplinary creations of the future. Hackers are encouraged to go above and beyond the typical software project and make something that combines software with finance/medicine/electronics/science.Sign up to mentor teams and individuals while they learn and push the boundaries of what's possible. Cercle Social's mission is to improve the access to education for disadvantaged youth in Benin (West-Africa). We are currently seeking talents to join our Board of Directors. This position is unpaid. We determine, the responsibilities for this position based on the experience of the applicant. It will include:• Spearheading the revenue and fundraising efforts of the organization, in coordination with board committee members.
• Proposing a marketing strategy, Grants, Fundraising, Business Development and Events.
• Participating in Board committee meetings.
• Developing, in coordination with the board members, the revenue and fundraising strategic plan for the organization.
• Representing the organization in the community on matters related to fundraising, community relations, and revenue development.
Ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Previous experience in a fundraising role either on a professional or volunteer level
• Experience in grant writing, major gift solicitation, event planning or direct marketing/fundraising.
• Knowledgeable about the nonprofit and fundraising procedure — previous non-profit BOD experience is a plus.
• Passionate about helping youth and making an impact in the world.
Time Commitment:
- Board meetings: Biweekly
- Duties commitment time: 10 hours/month according to workload.
