1. take some time to reflect on your own journey - both professionally and personally - what have you learned that you think high schoolers should know? what advice would you give someone pursuing a similar career path to yours? what do you want to share about your own journey that could inspire a young person? how did you get to where you are now at Twitter?

2. Write a one-page letter starting... "Dear JA Student" and tell them!

3. Email the letter to TweepMentors@jaworldwide.org

TSY is looking for people to look for grants and apply for them for us. Information will be provided to you in a document. This can be completed at your own pace as it is not critical to our operation. Grants allow us to expand and do more events as well as keep advertising for our nonprofit. This is our only method of revenue generating as we do not charge for any of our classes offered to students.

Employ to Empower helps aspiring entrepreneurs on Vancouver's Downtown Eastside overcome barriers and develop their businesses. We work with dozens of entrepreneurs who do things like teach Indigenous crafting, do de-cluttering for seniors, collect human and dog waste from downtown streets, design jewellery, sell cookies, and more.

Marketing is new to our entrepreneurs, and understanding social media marketing is a daunting task. Some are scared away from it entirely, others think they have to do everything all at once.

On November 16th, we'll be running an individual coaching session for 9 entrepreneurs, and 1 person from our own marketing team - to learn about social media strategy, and do an audit of their social media plans. Each entrepreneur will have done a previous session in October - but we hope an expert training session with a volunteer from Hootsuite will cement what they've learned, and take it to the next level.

We are looking for volunteers with knowledge and experience of a broad spectrum of social media, who care about issues of poverty, and about making things better in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside neighbourhood.

The session will be 60-90 minutes (depending on the entrepreneur's needs), and will see a volunteer paired with an entrepreneur to learn about their business, marketing strategy, and to coach them on the best social media (if any) for what they would like to do.

JA BizTown is a simulated city where fourth through sixth graders experience hands-on workplace, business, and personal finance challenges. After a few weeks of in-classroom curriculum, students are selected for a job and spend a day at the JA facility taking on the role of a real-world professional. The fun, immersive atmosphere inspires teamwork, critical thinking, and decision-making skills for each student.

After participating in a comprehensive, in-school curriculum, students come to JA BizTown to get a taste of the real world of work through applied, hands-on learning. As a volunteer, you guide students through the day, offering your firsthand knowledge and expertise to enhance their experiences. Each day, a team of 15-20 volunteers helps students have a meaningful JA BizTown experience. JA staff are also on-site to lead the simulation. Online training is required prior to your JA BizTown visit. In addition, volunteers arrive early on simulation day for hands-on instruction.

WEConnect International will be hosting the Financing Your Growing Business Boot Camp for women business owners on 19 and 21 October, 2022 in partnership with Moody's.

We are looking for volunteers to support this training, which helps to provide education and industry expertise on creditworthiness and how women business owners can position their business for capital input and growth.

As a volunteer, you can assist with either running the logistics/facilitation of the Boot Camp and/or presenting a specific training session. The curriculum, on-boarding and training will be provided to all volunteers and presenters and note this training will be presented in English and French using live translation so presenters can be fluent in either language.

• General Volunteer: These volunteers will support the overall delivery of the Boot Camp, working with WEConnect International to moderate breakout sessions, monitor and respond to attendee chat questions, or assist the presenters. Volunteers should be familiar with Zoom, able to answer general questions about creditworthiness in support of subject matter experts, and have experience in virtual facilitation/moderation and a basic knowledge of France and/or UK.

• Presenter: These volunteers will act as subject matter experts and deliver a training session on a specific topic – credit, financial statements, goal planning, sources of financing, capital planning, how to pitch or enterprise valuation. The presenter will be provided a pre-designed curriculum in PowerPoint and have the opportunity to suggest enhancements if desired. Additionally all trainers will be offered group and one-on-one training with project leads to ensure confidence with the presentation and materials as well as an understanding of the audience demographics. These volunteers should have experience presenting these topics to adult learners and an understanding of how these topics are or can be applied in France and/or UK.

Please note that this event takes place approximately 10:00 - 17:00 CET and you are only expected to attend the time you have selected and are not expected to attend the full event time (but are invited to stay, if you so choose!). Note that session times listed in Benevity don't always convert correctly across time zones. All volunteers will be sent a formal calendar invitation from WEConnect International. This invitation will be the correct time and you will be asked to ignore any automated updates or calendar invitations from Benevity.
