Imagine being part of a day of exploration, discovery, and connection designed for girls. The 4th annual WorldWideWomen Girls' Festival on Saturday, November 9th is the buzz of the Bay Area! We are anticipating 5,000+ attendees, and this year's program promises to be amazing. We would absolutely love your support in volunteering at the event. Join us and help girls feel empowered, educated, inspired, and, most importantly, confident in who they are!

Volunteers will welcome and guide girls through the many activities. There will be food and special prizes for the volunteer team and a free shuttle service from the Powell Street CalTrain station. We schedule two shifts, one for set up, ticket taking, and all of the morning activities, workshops and performances and one for all of the afternoon activities. Other volunteer positions include workshop support, directing performers and panelists, scheduling line up for the stages, direction givers all around the festival area, support for some of the maker's tables, bus meeters and greeters for all of the nonprofit bus passengers, and lots more.

It is a tremendous amount of fun for our volunteers interacting with the girls and their families.

If interested, please register here: https://worldwidewomengirlsfestival.org/volunteer

While looking to expand our board of directors, this nonprofit seeks pro bono to diversify the range of skills and expertise that members could bring into our organization. We need help to develop a board recruitment plan that would result in dynamic professionals joining our board.

BPDC is out to bring positive change to our community by providing education and access to health care for vulnerable or underprivileged children, entrepreneurial training for youths, and poor families start small businesses to earn living. When a jobless youth secures employment or a girl child is educated; those are the moments that make the long hours all worth it.
BPDC’s vision is that through our programs and services, there will no longer be any poor youth in Ghana. Our child education program is a key part of making sure that the goal comes to fruition.

On October 16 and 17, 2019 our organization annual event to aid homeless Veterans in the Detroit Metropolitan area by bringing homeless Veterans together with area service providers to aid/assist them in finding a place to live, suitable employment and/or training for employment, recovery from minor legal offenses and to assist them in helping themselves get back into the mainstream of life's day to day activities. We do this by holding a community event in Southeastern Michigan called a "Stand Down." Additionally, we host the local Stand Down Court sponsored by the 36th District and 3rd Circuit courts of Detroit, Michigan. As you are probably aware, “Stand Down” is a military term referring to the removal of exhausted combat troops from the battlefield to a place of relative security/safety to rest and recover. Therefore, at our Stand Down event, we provide a secure place where the homeless can be with other homeless veterans to rest from the stresses of life on the streets.

Every day, like the soldier in combat, the homeless Veteran must continue to 'do battle.' His enemies often include lack of shelter, unemployment, physical and emotional difficulties, legal difficulties, substance abuse and hopelessness. Battling these enemies on daily basis creates a self-destructive cycle leading to complete withdrawal from mainstream American society. To aid the homeless Veteran in regaining his dignity and self respect, our help is required - our organization offers a 'hand up' not a 'hand out'.

On October 17, 2019 the event will be Female Military Veteran Focused, with vendors who will address the needs of Female Military Veterans.

Our Event requires support starting on 14 for sight construction through October 18 for site deconstruction. Please visit our website https://www.4vets.org/ for additional details.
Our event will require volunteers from all walks of life - from unpacking boxes and setting up tables and chairs, assisting with security, fulfilling administrative tasks, escorting Veterans, to serving food and environmental management.
