You can make a difference by volunteering with the Teaching Tools Store!

Over 1000 people of all ages volunteered over 6,500 hours last year to support the Hillsborough Education Foundation’s mission and help students reach their full potential by generously donating their time and talent. Our volunteers are critical partners in helping us operate the Teaching Tools Store. They help us re-stock shelves, sorting and repacking donated school supplies and assisting in teacher check-out. Without them, our students without the basic school supplies would not receive free pencils, crayons and paper throughout the school year.

The Teaching Tools Store has several volunteer options so you can choose a time commitment that works with your schedule whether it is once per week or once per month. Volunteer hours and days depend on which opportunity you choose.

Students can also volunteer for their community service hours. Students ages 11-14 can volunteer at the Store with a parent or guardian present. Students ages 15 and over may fulfill their community service hours at the Store with parent or guardian consent.

No matter how you volunteer, the rewards are many and exceed the good feeling you will get from helping our students. You will be making a lasting difference in the life of a student by helping us provide something as simple as a pencil. Please join us.

Any weekday Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon or 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Summer Volunteers (June – August) are always welcome and assigned to tasks as needed.

Special Events Volunteers are needed to support many of the Foundation’s fundraising and teacher recognition events held throughout the year.

Thank you for supporting our Teaching Tools Store and our public school students in need in Hillsborough County.

We are looking for volunteers to come take care of the Kindergarten garden at Oster Elementary, for the benefit of the entire school!

The garden is a special place for the kids, especially those young kindergartners who experience school for the first time. It is used as a key feature to introduce the basis of science with study of plants, their growth, insects, seasons and more.
We need volunteers to help us make sure the garden is alive and well.

Ideally, volunteers would need to come during school opening hours (8am to 4pm) and help with:
- weeding
- watering raised beds
- planting new plants
- keeping area tidy and neat

Volunteers will report to the school office to gain access to the garden.
No noise is permitted during class hours, so blowers, lawn mowers, etc… could only be used after class is dismissed (2:40pm).

Contact Stephanie Motre-Martin if you have any questions or would like to volunteer.

We're looking for a local (Snoqualmie Valley resident) to help us troubleshoot some website issues. Ideally, this volunteer would have enough tech expertise to understand how to transfer our Sharepoint based site to a new server (and help with the choosing of a hosting site). Additionally, we have a CRM product developed for us by a volunteer team at Microsoft, but unfortunately have been plagued with a variety of issues that have prevented us from being able to use the CRM. Someone with a strong understanding of CRM and website backend would be a perfect fit for this project. We have willing board members and student representatives that are interested in learning, we just need an expert to help us.
