This event is a fundraiser for Mountain View Prevention Services and funds raised will be utilized to bring more drug, alcohol, and gambling prevention services to Lewis County.

Waimea Valley is hosting our 3rd annual Make-A-Difference Day volunteer event and we want to invite you to celebrate this national day of service with us!

We will have fun volunteering opportunities for participants of all ages and abilities, followed by a raffle with some awesome prizes. It is sure to be a great day of giving back, and we would love to have you and your 'Ohana join us in helping to make sure that this Valley thrives for generations to come.

The Schedule will look like this:

• 8:30am, we will start the morning with time to sign in, fill waivers and get ready for the day

• 8:45am, we will meet with our cultural department for a quick overview of the significance of this valley and the opening ceremony protocol

• 9:00am we will begin the volunteering work. We have projects for all ages and abilities. The work will last until noon.

• 12:00pm we will break for lunch and i will provide some small snacks (think like chips and granola bars) volunteers will be welcome to purchase lunch at our snack shop

• 12:30pm we will be handing out raffle tickets, remember that to get a raffle ticket, you must have signed in and filled a waiver that morning and you must be present during the raffle to win.

• 12:45pm We will begin the raffle and give away some great prizes for the volunteers including a 1-year pass to the valley.

• 1:30pm We should be done with the raffle at this time and volunteers will be encouraged to visit with community organizations and will have free admission to the valley for the remainder of that day.

Our main fundraising event of the year. Fall Fest , formerly Wine Fest, is a community event held at Crossings Vineyard in Washingtons Crossing, Pa.
Volunteers are needed from 12 to 6 pm on Saturday October 20th. Please wear comfortable shoes (non slip if possible) as well as black pants and a white shirt or Kohl's Cares Shirt. Volunteers from past years have said its an amazing volunteer opportunity.

Cameron Memorial Community Hospital is pleased to host the 17th annual Steuben County Diabetic Walk/5K on October 13, 2018. Over the past 17 years, the community has contributed over $250,000 in support of diabetic patient care. Proceeds from this years’ event will go to the Diabetic Fund, which helps provide desperately needed medication and supplies for diabetic patients in Steuben County.

The Happy Hope Factory is teaming up with United Way-North Carolina to deliver special Happy Hope Bags to children in the coastal Carolina communities affected by the recent storm. Teams are needed over the next four weeks to assemble, pack and ship up to 5,000 Happy Hope Bags. Hope Boxes contain all components required to assemble 25 Happy Hope Bags, and a prepaid UPS label will be included to ship completed boxes directly to the United Way’s distribution center. All boxes must be completed by October 19th. We can all be Hope Heroes, thank you for packaging happiness and smiles for children in need of a boost of hope!
