Join the American Lung Association in our Fight For Air along with 1000 climbers raising funds to save lives and prevent lung disease. Participants climb the 1,455 stairs of the Stratosphere tower in Las Vegas, Nevada. From Firefighters in gear, to elite athletes, to corporate teams and moms in tutus.... this is an event for everyone who cares about breathing! All funds raised support life saving research, local programs, and future lung disease cures.

opportunites include:
-5am – 7am (set-up, banner hanging, site prep)

-6:15am-11:30am (Registration/manning booths (t-shirts, registration, banner signing, cheering, etc.)

-11:30am-1pm (tear down)

Dress comfortably and in layers, as it can get cold. ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST WEAR RED VOLUNTEER SHIRT PROVIDED BY THE AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION.

The Benefits of Volunteering: FREE lunch will be provided (Feb 25th only) and a volunteer t-shirt.

A staggering 200,000+ children in the USA are seen each year in the emergency room with injuries associated with playground equipment. SAFE AT PLAY (SAP) is a non-profit organization that was founded by parents after their 5 year old daughter, Andrea Tyrah DeBruhl, was fatally injured at school on 2-1-2016 while playing on the monkey bars during recess. It is our mission to improve playground safety knowledge, understanding, and accountability in the prevention of needless childhood playground injuries, disabilities, and deaths.

SAP is hosting our second annual Playground Safety Awareness Week Kickoff event on Saturday, April 21, 2018 to bring awareness to the importance of playground safety. This interactive, family-friendly event will feature an informational session on playground safety, as well as an award presentation for grades K-5 student winners of the playground safety poster contest. Attendees will enjoy entertainment, games, prizes, and event swag.

We hope that you will be able to experience firsthand the pride we take in supporting our cause. On behalf of the children whom we serve to protect, we seek your help and support to create a successful event that brings awareness to the importance of playground safety in the prevention of childhood injuries, disabilities, and death.
